Berman’s abstract images follow their own alluvial logic from the inside out; as fragments build, plates collide, and colors accrete. Time and space prove the strength found in softness and the solidity contained in transparency. Collectively, the works in this exhibition depict a pause in time, a reflection of unconformity.
In essence, my work celebrates the joy of seeing and the beauty of discovery. I have recently spent time seeking vast landscapes as a way to connect with the universals of being. My work reflects the interrelatedness between expanses and details within space, and how even the smallest action can create a cascade of events and phenomena.
My images are composed in a series of iterations. Families of colors, imagery and compositions relate together closely in my work without ever duplicating each other. As layers build, imagery compounds, colors mix, and patterns form. I keep my process of working dynamic and playful so that my images can evolve as they are made, in turn, building entirely new worlds.
