KHAMIR’S FISH BAZAAR AND RESTAURANT GRADUATE ARCHITECTURE STUDIO III LOCATION: KHAMIR PORT, IRAN

Bazaar’s Circulation The idea is to completely divide the customers' and the fish sellers' circulation to avoid two functions' interference. So the fishermen bring the fishes to the preparation district and distribute them to the booths. The customers visit the booths from the divided path.

KHAMIR’S FISH BAZAAR AND RESTAURANT

1

This project is a part of a cooperative class project in Khamir port for the Fish Bazaar and the Restaurant right in the seashore. The whole project was to design the port's essential function and enhance the quality of the people's living by proposing architectural designs. The pier in this project was also organized to increase all fishermen, fish sellers, and customers' convenience.

Booths’ Elevation Wind Catchers are used in humid climates in Iran and can promote ventilation and air circulation. The booths are organized in the way that the positive and negative spaces form an algorithm in the elevation specific to this project.

CONCEPTUAL ARCHITECTURE EDIFICE OF IRAN

11

This project is a conceptual plan which focuses on Iran’s architecture. For this project, the main principles and symbols of architecture in Iran, along with the functions specific to Iran’s architecture, have been the core of the design. In addition, architecture has been studied in the past, present, and the future.

SUSTAINABLE URBAN COMPLEX GRADUATE ARCHITECTURE STUDIO I LOCATION: TEHRAN, IRAN

SUSTAINABLE URBAN COMPLEX

17

This project is designed to make one of the squares in Tehran more organized with an Urban Complex. This complex should provide the services and functions which are insufficient in the whole site. Therefore, a thorough evaluation of the site has been done, and the weaknesses of the whole square have been detected. Complete programming has been done, and several concepts have been designated. The chief focus of this project is sustainability in three domains: social, ecological, and economic. By considering social sustainability, this project has a variety of potentials to enhance the social interaction and the identity of the square and the whole district. Ecological sustainability is also considered with LEED standards. Green roofs with full consideration of the water resources management and purification are parts of this project.

“ASMANEH” RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX

27

Asmaneh: A particular traditional word in Persian meaning the ceiling. This word is used in this project's name as a metaphor for a warm, safe home and shelter. 28

The main concern of this project is creating a neighborhood with various spaces for families and neighbors. These spaces are attributed to one family, two families, or all the neighbors. The main spaces are in the middle of the site beside the Niasarm Maadi, and various space qualities are created in the complex landscape. These spaces are suitable for users of different ages, and the whole design is based on diversity, which is most of the time, the initial characteristic of each residential complex. Therefore, there are playgrounds for children, family gathering places, and activities for older people.

The spaces are divided, but not completely. Except for the bedrooms, all of the spaces are transparent, and the whole unit is a unified space with an architectural separation of spaces. The kitchen, living rooms, dining space, and most importantly, the yard, are connected to each other.

ORPHANAGE UNDERGRADUATE FINAL PROJECT LOCATION: ISFAHAN, IRAN

ORPHANAGE

39

This project is an orphanage with full concentration on the architecture’s effect on children’s growth. Most orphanages are designed without this principle, and the children are isolated from society and are grown differently from typical children. This issue has negative influences on their future and characteristic as a part of society. This project has tried to create a place where these children can sense they are like the others.

TENSEGRITY STRUCTURE EXTRACURRICULAR PROJECT LOCATION: ART UNIVERSITY OF ISFAHAN CAMPUS Project produced and designed in a team The process diagrams here are produced by me

TENSEGRITY STRUCTURE

47

Tensegrity is composed of compressed components that do not collide with each other and tensioned members, which form the whole spatial structure. This project is the final product of a workshop held at the Art University of Isfahan and has been installed on the campus. The entire group worked together, and I was one of the members during the whole process, from designing to installing the structure. This part demonstrates a brief visual picture of the cooperative workshop.

48

TENSEGRITY STRUCTURE

49

50

In all modules, this loop is repeated. As shown in the diagram, tension wires are halted by adjusting screws that all converge in a ring at the center of the loop. The wires then go through the compression components and are halted there. A network of tension and compression forms in the whole module, and the loop presented above plays an indispensable role in this network.

TENSEGRITY STRUCTURE

51

The wires reach the branches in the way that has been presented above. The branches are thrust with a drill, and the wire goes through the hole. Two holders have restricted the wire’s movement at two sides of the branch. In this way, the network is completed, and the whole module has an equilibrium in load, tension, and compression.
