I chose to base this project on a timeline of my personal experiences, using algorithms. I divided the total number of cubes made by Sol Lewitt by my age at the time: 122 / 22 = 5.5 The ratio, 5.5, was then multiplied by the number of years lived in each place throughout my lifetime: Iran between the ages of 0-4: 4(5.5) = 22 Japan between the ages of 4-7: 3(5.5) - 16.5 Iran between the ages of 7-9: 2(5.5) = 11 Holland between the ages of 9-16: 7(5.5) = 38.5 New York between the ages of 16-21: 5(5.5) = 27.5 Los Angeles between the ages of 21-22: 1(5.5) = 5.5 I eventually moved down the original list of cubes consecutively according to the final numbers and picked out the final 6 cubes accordingly.
This project places emphasis on the development of form language, showing how the pieces move throughout the game.
