Proof of purchase must be provided to Shimano Australia or to an Authorised Dealer before a claim under this warranty can be approved.

The product must be returned to Shimano Australia or to an Authorised Dealer.

This warranty will be considered void if it is found that the product has been subjected to unauthorised alterations, abuse, or damage due to failure to provide the recommended care and maintenance or where the product has been used for an unintended use.

This warranty does not cover claims arising from normal wear and tear, improper use, or neglect.

To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover claims for any incidental or consequential damage resulting from or in connection with the product.

Shimano reserves the right to repair or replace the goods at our discretion with no cost to you other than the freight to and from an Authorised Dealer or Shimano Australia head office repair centre.

Advancements in manufacturing technology and gear tooth design improve the surface contact and meshing between the drive gear and pinion gear. This revolutionary design efficiently distributes the load placed on the gear tooth surface across a wider area to prevent damage from stress points while significantly improving overall gear durability.

DURABILITY HAS DOUBLED DUE TO LOAD REDUCTION

Advancements in the internal structure and design extend the spool's oscillation to enable the spool to move up and down at an extremely low speed. This technology creates a precise winding pattern with less overlap that significantly reduces friction as the line leaves the spool during a cast. The result is smooth and exceptional casting performance, especially of light lures.

With Infinity Drive, the pinion gear inner does not make contact with the main shaft, as high-sliding bushing supports the main shaft and sliding resistance is reduced. In addition to this, a special skidding coating on the main shaft helps to further reduce sliding resistance. Infinity Drive cuts handle rotation torque by about 30 per cent in comparison to the conventional system, and makes the reel more powerful. This enables anglers to wind more aggressively, even under heavy load.

Constructed to enhance overall durability, this revolutionary drag washer incorporates cutting-edge materials woven in a unique pattern compared to conventional drag washers. Without sacrificing a smooth drag feel, this new material is greater than 10x more durable for improved drag performance.

The flexible polymer fin is installed near the line roller. This maintains line tension to reduce sagging and prevents the line from falling off the bottom of the spool or wrapping around the spool in an uneven manner.

MORE ROBUST GEARING

The Hagane Gear is produced by applying approximately 200 tons of pressure to the raw metal through unique technology called Precision Cold Forging. Delivered with micron accuracy, no cutting work is involved.

UPGRADED DRAG WITH HEAT RESISTANCE

The ‘Heat Sink Panel’, where the heat generated by drag is released, stops any decrease in drag performance, due to thermal sagging, by around 50 per cent.

The ‘Insulation Sheet’, which blocks heat transfer to the spool, prevents spool temperatures from increasing by around 30 per cent.

HIGHLY RIGID BODY DESIGN

The Hagane Body chassis is made of highly rigid aluminium alloy. It eliminates flex, warp and distortion of the reel, and protects the engagement of gears inside. This allows for smoother winding.

ULTRA LIGHT FRICTION FREE ROTATION

The redesigned Magnumlite Rotor delivers ultra light, almost friction free rotation, enabling you to control the retrieve with ultimate precision and sensitivity. Lures become even more animated when using the MGL Rotor reel, and the ultra light experience lets you feel every movement of the lure, the bottom and ultimately the strike of the fish, no matter how slight it is.

SEAMLESS GEAR ENGAGEMENT

From the fundamental, whole body design to the most intricate parts of the drive train, including the drive gear, wormshaft, wormshaft pin and wormshaft gear, every piece has been carefully reviewed, and the smallest clearance gaps and wobbles have been eliminated to the highest tolerances.

EXTRA, SMOOTH AND HIGH POWER

By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with S A-RB bearings (on Stella models) and introducing a bigger drive gear, Shimano increased gearing efficiency and higher power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation for less effort, even under heavy loads. This increases the efficiency of the reel, meaning it will stay smoother and perform at its peak for much longer.

SMOOTHER GEARING

Featuring a finer tooth main gear for more efficient winding. The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have also been analysed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection. Starting from an already industry leading standard, reduced reel noise and an even smoother gear feeling has been achieved.

LONG STROKE SPOOL

The long stroke spool design improves casting performance when compared to the previous model due to improved line flow from the spool.

SUPERIOR WATER RESISTANCE

X-Protect is a water resistant technology that combines water repellent treatments and a labyrinth type structure to suppress the entry of water. This achieves a high level of water-resistant performance despite non-contact in small to mid-sized spinning reels. In large saltwater spinning reels, a contact-type structure is adopted to provide the highest level of water-resistant performance.

MAGNUM LIGHT SPOOL X CORE SOLID BODY

The Magnum Light Spool III benefits the angler with a reduction of inertia from the spool that benefits both winding and casting. The Core Solid Body is a one piece Magnesium body that’s highly durable, yet compact in the hand as the main frame and level wind protector are one. The Magnum Light Spool III, which boasts a light start up and overwhelming ease of retrieving line, is housed in a highly rigid and compact Core Solid Body which in turn, supports the use of lighter lures and allows anglers to cast them further into snags and the like. The increased strength of the spool and the body allows anglers to fish lighter, but also harder for the finnicky, tough species.

DIGITAL CONTROL BRAKING SYSTEM

Shimano’s new Digital Control braking system utilizes a microcomputer to monitor spool speed 1,000 times every second and apply the perfect amount of brake to prevent backlash and maximise distance.

O-rings are placed on the inner and outer diameters of the bearing which improves the degree of adhesion with the shaft and frame. This improved adhesion reduces internal rattling, eliminates any rotational loss and achieves silence when cranking and a smooth feel.

With the gear teeth super-refined to the limit, the “MicroModule Gear System” enables seamless engagement and power transmission. The System, without compromising strength, reduces noise and provides far better sensitivity.

X-Ship stands for Extra, Smooth and High Power. G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm up from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the angler’s hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhances casting comfort.

By placing sealing gaskets in 12 critical locations throughout the rigid aluminium body, we are able to create a water resistant structure that can hold up against the toughest conditions and fish that Mother Nature has to offer.

The concept of CoreProtect is simple... to provide water resistance without creating a heavy rotation feeling. There are three key areas of the reel that require protection: the roller clutch, the body and the line roller.

SVS INFINITY

SVS Infinity provides 6 settings and an adjustable brake dial to deliver a much wider and more precise range for maximum control and consistent brake performance in all conditions. If you need finer settings, you can make adjustments with the internal brake shoes.

Incorporating large diameter drag washers at the base of the spool provides greater drag stability. The result is smooth and consistent drag performance throughout the fight. The Coil Wave Spring features steady elasticity at any compression level, and little deformation under repeated compression. This results in precise drag adjustments throughout the curve, giving the angler more control at high drag pressure.

We have upgraded our light-weight carbon material Ci4. Keeping it light weight, rigidity and durability of the material under fishing conditions is highly improved. From this characteristic, we were able to reduce the volume and weight of the rotor and the body.

The Shimano Stable Spool Design technology features balanced and uniform thin wall aluminium construction throughout the spool. This precision significantly reduces spool vibration and creates an incredibly smooth feeling when casting and retrieving.

Shimano's centrifugal braking system suppresses rapid spool rotation, line backlash, and improves casting performance. This is due to a wider brake adjustment range via the external dial, enabling greater versatility when casting differing lure weights from light to heavy.

It's all about leverage! We've repositioned the handle closer to the body to increase cranking leverage, rigidity and torque.

Rigid Support Drag eliminates spool movement and wobble, even at light drag settings. The result is an incredibly smooth drag even at extremely light settings.

Shielded Anti-Rust Bearings are similar to A-RB, but feature additional shields for the ultimate in protection.

Anti-Rust Bearings possess extreme durability, at least 10 times the corrosion resistance of standard stainless steel bearings.

One Piece Bail allows the line to travel unimpeded to the line roller. Its seamless design reduces friction and the chance of tangles or cuts to the bail arm.

Eliminates friction on the spool shaft for increased free spool. The result is a longer cast requiring less effort.

Variable Brake System uses weights to slow down the spool’s rotation. This provides the angler with more consistent spool speed, as well as easier line management during the cast.

Control function to suppress abnormal heat generation in the drag section to maintain stable drag performance. When drag slips, rotation speed of motor is automatically lowered.

This drag material provides a wider range of drag settings, for the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.

E.I Anti-Corrosion Surface Treatment: With E.I., after the anodisation process is finished, a second layer of surface treatment is added. This treatment is forced into the remaining surface impurities. This gives salt no hideout and also results in an extremely smooth-to-the- touch finish. A reel with E.I. treatment has more than double the corrosion resistance of a standard anodised reel.

Fine tuning of the Baitrunner Spool functionality. Both the small drag setting and the big free spool knob now work independently of each other. Improved, more user-friendly handling is the result.

This shifting mechanism is designed so that gear changes are quick and easy, even when fighting a fish. The low gear ratio used for high-power retrieves is selected by pushing the button on the base of the handle. Return to the highspeed ratio by sliding the release button along the handle shank.

With this feature the spool is aligned parallel to the rod, minimising the rubbing between the rod and the line, while increasing casting distance.

Allows for instantaneous drag adjustments, which helps when fighting fish around structure.

By utilising a special drag washer, the drag can be adjusted from the minimum to maximum range with one complete turn of the drag knob.
