Mix Kepa Kurl Maritime
The colourful mural on the walls of Aunty Joan’s Dolly Mix perfectly captures the natural beauty of Esperance’s unique plant life.
Painted in a trompe-l’œil style, the mural features a Victorian dollhouse adorned with lush Australian flora in a deep, iridescent teal – a custom colour Anita created to match the mesmerizing waves of Hellfire Bay.
The Kepa Kurl Maritime Mural celebrates the diverse maritime history of Esperance Bay. It represents the organisations and industries that have shaped this coastal community, from the Kepa Kurl Wudjari Nyungar people’s enduring connection to the sea country, to the thriving tourism, transport, and fishing sectors. The mural captures the recreational use of the ocean and the contributions of the broader community, honoring Esperance’s maritime heritage.
