Esperance is famous for its crystal clear water and white sand. If you’re looking for a quiet spot with minimal swell head to the foreshore or Bandy Creek. If you’re looking for surf and snorkelling opportunities head around the Great Ocean Drive, where the choices are endless.

Play time for all ages
Nature Playground - Jetty Headland
This play space is inspired by the outback and ocean featuring a nature play area, climbing equipment and plentiful shade. Children can overlook the action below from a 4m high crows nest tower! Enjoy refreshments from one of the mobile food vans or have a barbecue and make use of the expansive grassed areas.
Abilities Playground - James Street Precinct
A playground built for children of all abilities in a secure environment. The playground offers views of the ocean right next door. Ablutions, shade shelters and barbecue facilities are all close at hand.
Esperance Skate Park – The Esplanade
Test out your skate skills on an array of different elements and obstacles varying in difficulty. The Skate Park is a hub of multigenerational interaction activity inviting families and individuals to join in and enjoy the space.
Esperance Pump Track - The Esplanade
The brand new Pump Track, located near the Skate Park, contains three endless loops. With rollers and berms, and a pump bowl designed to be ridden without pedalling, instead riders use a pumping motion, pulling up on the face of rollers and pushing down on the backside.
Suitable for mountain bikes, BMX and cross bikes to improve mountain biking skills. Please ride to your abilities. Adventureland Park Climb a whale, learn road rules or shoot some hoops. This park includes an enclosed playground, abundant grass and a BBQ
area. A large pond is home to ducks and in summer holidays you can ride through the park on a miniature train.
Esperance Miniature Railway
Located next to Adventureland Park on the Esplanade. Open 9am-3pm October to April, depending on weather and customers. Daily during school holidays and weekends during school terms.
Quiet Discoveries
Esperance Museum
One of WA’s outstanding regional museums. The Esperance Municipal Museum contains historical objects from the 1800’s, parts of the 1979 Skylab which was Americas’ first space station and much more. Check out their Facebook page for Opening Hours.
Esperance Bird and Animal Park and Café
Cuddle the cute rabbits and guinea pigs or handfeed the animals. Enjoy a drink or snack in the café or on the verandah surrounded by birdlife and the tranquillity of shady trees. Open Thursday to Sunday (school holidays days may vary) Located 13kms north from the roundabout on Norseman Highway.
The Esperance Library
The Library has a fantastic children’s area, and on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:30am you can come along, read a story, sing some songs and create fantastic crafts. The Library also provides holidays programs for children. Open Monday to Saturday.

In Esperance for the school holidays? The One and All Community Program is all about making sport and recreation fun with a variety of games, activities and challenges. Leisure Centre

Esperance Mini Golf
This 18-hole mini golf is located on the Esplanade near Adventureland Park. Jolly Jalopy’s are available for hire and a fun way to cruise along the foreshore. Open school holidays and most Sundays. Check their Facebook page for updates.
