Tencel® - The Eucalyptus fibre
Tencel® is a new and exciting fabric quality. In 2013, six of the latest Continental® Fashion Forward styles - N90, N91, N92, N94, N95, N96 - are manufactured in fine jersey Tencel®. The material is well-known for its outstanding physical characteristics - silky softness and luxurious drape. It is perfectly smooth, with depth of colour, an excellent moisture absorbency, and is naturally hygenic as it inhibits the growth of bacteria. Tencel® Lyocell, to give it its full name, is the most environmentally friendly man-made cellulosic fibre available today. It is produced exclusively from the wood pulp of Eucalyptus trees certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), and the fibre carries the Pan-European Forest Council (PEFC) quality seal. The only chemical used in the Tencel® manufacturing processes is the non-toxic solvent, amine oxide, that allows closed-loop processing where up to 99% of the chemical is perpetually re-used, minimising the impact on the environment and conserving energy and water. The European Union awarded this process the Environmental Award 2000 in the category “technology for sustainable developments”.

Cette matière est réputée pour ses caractéristiques physiques remarquables – une douceur semblable à de la soie et qui donne un effet drapé. La surface est parfaitement lisse, avec une profondeur de couleur. Ce tissu possède une excellente capacité à absorber l’humidité, naturellement hygiénique, il inhibe la croissance des bactéries. Le Tencel® Lyocell, pour donner son nom en entier, est la fibre naturelle modifiée par l’homme la plus respectueuse de l’environnement aujourd’hui disponible. Elle est produite exclusivement à partir d’une pâte de bois d’eucalyptus certifié par le Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), et cette fibre porte le label de qualité du Pan-European Forest Council (PEFC). Le seul produit chimique utilisé dans le processus de fabrication du Tencel® est le solvant non toxique, amineN-oxyde, qui permet un traitement en boucle fermée où plus de 99% de ce solvant est perpétuellement réutilisé, ce qui minimise l’impact sur l’environnement et conserve l’énergie et l’eau. L’Union Européenne a récompensé ce procédé avec le Prix Environnemental 2000 dans la catégorie « Technologie pour le développement durable ».

Sei nuovi capi della Collezione Continental 2012 - N90, N91, N92, N94, N95, N96- sono realizzati con il nuovo Fine Jersey Tencel®. Questo tessuto è ben noto per le sue eccezionali caratteristiche fisiche di morbidezza setosa che dona ai capi un drappeggio di lusso. Questo tessuto e’ perfettamente liscio con profondità di colore e possiede un’eccellente assorbimento dell’umidità. E’ naturalmente igienico in quanto inibisce naturalmente la crescita dei batteri. Tencel® Lyocell (per dargli il suo nome completo), è attualmente la fibra a base di cellulosa piu’ ecosostenibile attualmente disponibile sul mercato. E ‘prodotta esclusivamente dalla pasta di legno di alberi di eucalipto ed e’ certificata Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) e Pan-European Forest Council (PEFC). L’unica sontanza chimica utilizzata nel processo di fabbricazione della fibra Tencel® è l’atossico ossido di ammina, solvente che permette l’elaborazione a circuito chiuso. In questo tipo di lavorazione a circuito chiuso, la sostanza chimica, puo’ essere riutilizzata minimizzando l’impatto sull’ambiente, il consumo di acqua ed energia elettrica. L’Unione europea (UE) ha conferito a questo particolare processo produttivo, il premio Ambiente 2000 in tecnologia, nella categoria per lo sviluppo sostenibile.
