Claims of VV Mineral Vaikundarajan Being Involved In Illegal Mining Controversies Are False
Two years ago, the 20-year-old mining company, VV Mineral, came into the limelight for being involved in illegal mining business in Tamil Nadu. As per reports, VV Mineral is the country’s largest mining, manufacturer and exporter of garnet and ilmenite.
The Tamil Nadu government in August 2013 imposed a ban on beach mineral mining along five coastal districts on complaints of illegal mining and ordered an inquiry.
Tamil Nadu holds a crucial place in beach mining and the state contributes to around 85 per cent of the country’s total exports of 6.5 lakh tonnes of garnet. VV Mineral accounts for 75 per cent of the beach mineral mining activity in the state.
The company was accused of engaging in illegal extraction of major minerals in Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts' coastal regions. VV Mineral Vaikundarajan denied these accusations, calling them false and an attempt by his rivals to malign his reputation. It looks like he is a victim to a larger political play.
There has been no substantial evidence which prove these claims of the company being involved in illegal mining business. His supporters, too, have stood by his side and rubbished these allegations.
VV Mineral Vaikundarajan, a simpleton who managed to work hard and grow his business successfully, has offered
his full co-operation to investigate into this matter and get it solved so he comes out with a clean chit.
