Mineral sands are formed by the continuous depositions from the sea. It occurs when waves force minerals to be washed on shores and form placer deposits. Mineral sands are also known as heavy mineral sands are rich in contents of minerals such as


Bauxite, Monazite, Rutile, Ilmenite, Zircon, Garnet and other minerals.

Such sand minerals are rare and are used in different industrial applications. Garnet is used in water jet cutting, Zircon is used in ceramics and Rutile is used in making of Titanium metal.

Only through the process of beach sand mining can one extract mineral sands. This engages in the basic process where sand is extracted manually and later taken to a separation plants. In the plants, they are separated as per their grades and magnetic properties. After the separation process, they are packaged and transported to different parts.
