The Alleged Shoreline Erosion Caused At Tuticorin Coast Due To Illegal Sand Mining By VV Minerals Is A Baseless Claim

On August 6, 2013 VV Minerals was brought under raid for illegal beach mining and encroachment claims by the government. The raid report claims that the company is actually using 30 hectares versus the approved 4 hectares for mining.

They further went on to claim that the owner of VV Minerals, Vaikundarajan has a monopoly in the area and has thus managed to indulge in various mining lease and environmental violations.

The company deals in Ilmenite and Garnet mining and export. The enquiry also reveals a letter that was sent to the district officials claiming similar terrifying facts about the company. It also mentions that the company received a mining license in just 72 days owing to their ownership and influence in the region.

However, Vaikundarajan of VV Minerals India also made counter revelations to prove that there is no fundamental foundation to the allegations. He claimed that some of the government officials are as good as

payroll employees of his rival businesses and are trying hard to represent him as the sand mafia. He has however decided to remain calm in the face of the storm and wait for these allegations to be completely rubbished. V.V.
