VV Minerals Vaikundarajan Denies Allegations of Being Associated With Jayalalitha
According to recent reports, Judge Michael Cunha has passed a judgment stating that VV Minerals Chairman, S. Vaikundarajan, alleged to be involved in a large scale mining business that he is associated with Jayalalitha.
Ashish Kumar, the then collector of Thoothukudi conducted a raid on VV Minerals on
August 6, 2013 and stated that VV Minerals has been involved in large scale illegal beach mining.
However, there was no substantial proof to support his claims and these allegations have been denied by VV Mineral Vaikundarajan.
Some report also states that Jayalalitha made various efforts to save VV Mineral Vaikundarajan and his company VV Minerals over the last 1 year. Also, a couple of weeks ago, when the high court appointed Mr Sagayam, IAS to probe the illegal mining in the state, the state government headed by Jayalalitha was said to appeal in the Supreme Court to cancel the appointment.
Aam Aadmi Party had brought to light the various financial links between VV Mineral Vaikundarajan and Jayalalitha and how S. Vaikundarajan and his family owned 87% shares in Sasikala’s company ‘MIDAS Golden Distilleries Private Ltd’ until 2009. How much truth do these allegations hold are yet to be proven as no concrete proof has been brought forth by the party?
The chairman of the 20-year-old mining company went on to say that these are all but rumors spread by his competitors. He has been cooperative all the while, answering to reporter’s questions patiently and with a guilt-free confidence.
