Kledaka Kapha Associated with fire element Located in the Ä maĹ›haya (stomach) is kledaka, for it moistens (liquifies) the hard masses of food. AH: Su. 15 liquify and emulsify food to break it down kleda is secreted as mucin from the mucous lining in the stomach
avalmabaka associated with air element present in the alveoli, bronchioles, trachea as the mucous lining mediates proper extraction of oxygen to support hemoglobin oxidation supports all other kapha systems in the body
avalmabaka Shlesma (kapha) also is of five divisions; that which is located in the chest and trika (meeting place between shoulder, neck and back); by it’s own power and by power of the essence of food (rasa) present in the hrdaya (heart) it supports the body by its functions of ap bhuta (cohesion, softness, moistness, liquidity) and bestows strength to the seat of the other kapha, hence called avalambaka shlesman (kapha).
Bodhaka Kapha Associated with water element main site is the oral cavity bringing moisture, lubrication salivation, first phase of digestion That located in the tongue is known as bodhaka for it helps taste perception.
Tarpaka Kapha associated with space element main sites are the white matter of the brain, myelin sheath, vitreous humor, meninges of the brain, sinuses, nasal cavities and internal ear allows for impulse transmission That located in the head is known as tarpak since it nourishes the sense organs.
Shleshaka Kapha
associated with earth element main site are articular surfaces and articular space nourish the bone, periosteum that located in the joints (of bones) is known as shlehaka becuase it lubricates the joints. acts as synovial fluid, intracellular fluid and promotes communication between cells
