Edward is from the Nevada, CH ShoGun's Sierra Nevada Harvest X Emmet, GCH ShoGun's I'm it N That’s That JH RN litter. Edward is now living with Paula Chmura, Wilson and Paula’s new Sussex puppy, Teller. Here is a “recent” report from Paula: Well Edward Clumber has been here two weeks now. He is so sweet - even the cats and our parrot love him. Teller Sussex is not so loved by the cats. Edward and our parrot Baron are now in collusion Baron passes out newspapers from the bottom of his cage to Edward so he can shred them all over the floor in the puppy room. We have had a puppy casualty - Edward chewed up the fronts of four chairs in the puppy room. The room is now primarily furnitureless until we get past the teething stage. He and Teller Sussex adore one another and spend most of the day wrestling. And cranky uncle Wilson Sussex looks on indulgently ;)

Robb Olsen reports on Hamm & Emma Hope all is well with you both. Realized it had been awhile since I sent any pics of the kids. I have attached a few. They are both doing VERY well and we continue to wonder how we lived our lives ‘b.c.’ (before clumbers)! Hamm and Emma are quite the pair! There are days I feel like I should pay a cover charge for their antics and entertainment. Emma thinks she is in complete control of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE… however, Hamm still just has to give ‘the look’ and she slinks off to pout. I still like to think that I’m in charge, but deep down I know that I’m just here to make the house payment. LOL We’ve had lots of company this summer up at the lake and they’ve loved it. One weekend we had 7 dogs and all was calm and quiet. They thought it was ‘doggie daycare’ brought TO them! They make great host and hostess for the other dogs that visit, but certain toys ARE NOT to be shared! Most days are spent with walks in the woods, stopping to visit a couple of the neighbor dogs while walking, swim (or stand on shore) and of course napping! One neighbor at the lake brings their chickens with them. (city folk gone wild…lol). Hamm and Emma were quite interested in them and they made sure to make the chickens feel welcome. Continual chasing, cornering and annoying them. Stop for a minute so everyone can catch their breath and they are off on the chase again. Even chased the chickens into the owners’ house one time! No one hurt but some chickens now have pictures of Clumbers with red x’s on them in the coop! 5

Hamm and Emma have been in good health and are hitting their weight goals… Hamm losing and Emma gaining a bit. Vet asked if Emma was the runt. Told him that would explain her being very ‘Napoleon’ in her personality! J Can’t say enough how great the two of them are and how much we love them. Grateful the two of them picked me to work for them! Hope summer was great and have a great and LONG fall! We all hope to hold off winter, right?

First, let me apologize for not writing you over the past year. I know how much your puppies mean to you and I have been truly negligent in not keeping you up-to-date with Lydia and Walter. Let me assure you, Lydia and Walter are both great. They are all grown now, but still our babies. They have bonded to each other and I think they always know where the other is, even if they're on separate sides of the house. Unfortunately, Sidney went to the Rainbow Bridge last month. He was nearly 15 years old and led a happy, spoiled life. We miss him very much. In January Lydia had to have surgery for an obstruction. I really thought this would never happen to us; we were always so careful. She ate half a Planet Dog ball and it got stuck in her stomach. Fortunately it hadn't worked its way into her intestine. She recovered quickly and was back to her sweet self. Needless to say we now keep all balls out of her reach. We are grateful that we have an excellent vet who took good care of her. Lydia still gets to play catch outside with Greg and Walter with a pink Planet Dog ball (her favorite). We have a bunch of Nylabones around the house that seem to be the only safe thing for them! Greg was out of the country a lot this summer, so the clumbers kept me company around the house. I felt safe with their loud, husky barks. Lydia is particularly good at hearing every little sound and once she starts barking Walter soon follows. I don't know if it's because Walter's a boy and Lydia's a girl, but their personalities are completely different. Lydia is a little bashful and Walter is a real clown. They complement each 7

other perfectly! Lydia is a good girl and keeps all her feet on the floor, but Walter is a professional counter surfer. In fact, twice he jumped up and turned the stove on without our knowledge. Either time could have been disastrous. We bought child protectors for the knobs so that should end his cooking career! I'm attaching some photos so you can see how adorable they both are! Our condolences to you and Greg on your loss of Sidney and thanks for your update. Helen and Otto

More good news from OFA. Susan Hall reports that Dori’s hip score came back as GOOD. Congratulations to you Helen on your breeding program! Another OFA good clumber which is so wonderful for the breed. Thanks so much.

Hi Helen and Otto; I wanted to tell you about all the admirers Iris and Dahlia had this weekend in Bar Harbor, Maine. We took a ride up there this weekend (3 1/2 hours) up the coast, weather was great. Both dogs are very good travelers. This sea-side town is famous for tourists, but also because it is a very dog-friendly place. We walked all over town, and everyone stopped to admire our Clumbers. We spread the good word about Shogun Clumbers in Wisconsin. No surprise, Clumbers are a real treat for people to see. People stopped , asked to pet them, and just say "hi". Iris is very generous with her kisses, and the ladies especially wanted to hug her. Both dogs were very well behaved. We hope everyone is doing well at Shogun. I wanted to tell you that Iris just loves Dahlia, jumping all over her and giving her kisses. Dahlia is more set in her ways. Her tail wages when she's with Iris, but not so kissy-huggy as Iris is. She gets a little jealous when she sees our son Jim pick up Iris.
