The tv show ‘Self Made’ details the often untold story of Madame C.J. Walker through a fictional retelling mini series. The series follows her story as she overcomes hostility and discrimination in 20th century America, whilst building what was soon to be her hair care empire. As America’s first self made female millionaire, Mrs Walker reigns a huge inspiration to Curls + Fros and we want to celebrate her incredible story by sharing her importance with you. Take some time and check out the mini series, staring the one and only Octavia Spencer as Mrs Walker (you can’t get better casting than Octavia right?). We loved the series and hope that it inspire’s other young black women such as our CEO to feel empowered and start pursuing their dreams and build an empire of their own.
