SHONAEGH COCHLAN

Initial research/ Primary imagery focusing on the contrasting texture of the decay on the skin of the fruit in contrast to the gooey centre.

Distorting the shape of the banana by reversing and rotating one half, to create a manipulated part mirrored image.

Primary imagery of party rings; Illustration 2B, 4B,5B pencil.

Illustration/ Promarker; Carry forward the sickly sweetness conveyed through the sugary party rings.

Taking apart the shapes within the fruit, I particularly admire the sporadic placement of the decay on the skin, specificly when the form is manipulated.

Capture and carry through the bold brightness from illuminations.

Taking apart the manipulated image of the banana further and serparating the details of this form, through segments; peeling back it’s qualities.

A0 illustration w/pro marker, arcyric paint, bubble wrap decay print, and artbrush coloured pen. (Carry forward and convey block colours and contrasting divides between each segment withing my textile designs)

Layered banana line drawing, development of sample motif shape.

Final sample/ Needle punched polycotton & net mesh, manipulated PVC, machine embroidery.

Spongy bubble wrap texture emulates decaying effect on the skin of the banana.

Needle punched polycotton/net mesh
