FEBRUARY LITTLE BUFFALO STATE PARK EVENTS: Virtual Lunchtime Lectures: Join us for several lunchtime programs via Microsoft Teams. Links will be sent once you register. You must register to receive a link. Register on the DCNR Calendar of Events and look for Little Buffalo events. Start time is 12pm Feb. 8th – Bluebirds & Cavity Nesting Species – Learn how to help birds by properly installing wildlife boxes on your property. Feb. 15th – Winter Tree ID: Alternate-leaf Trees – Learn some tips and tricks to help you identify some of the trickier trees in PA Feb. 11th 1-3pm DINO FOSSILS; Come face to face with the past! Taylor McCoy is a paleontology volunteer with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and will be bringing his ttraveling collection of fossils and casts.Hear stories from the field and the lab while getting up close with dinosaurs. YOUTH ART DAY 2023 ENTRY DEADLINE is Wednesday, February 8. Categories include visual art, video, comic art, poetry, essay, short story, graphic design, and performance. Entry guidelines and digital application forms are currently available online at www.perrycountyarts.org/youth-art-day. All application forms and digital entries must be submitted online by Wednesday, February 8. In addition, visual art entries must be physically delivered by Wednesday, February 8 to PCCA Gallery located at One S. Second Street, Newport, which will be open to receive entries from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $3 fee for each entry applies. Public, private, and home school students residing in or attending school in Perry County are encouraged to participate. Works created at home are eligible. Entries may be submitted on behalf of students by both their teachers and parents. Youth Art Day is an annual showcase of visual art, performance, and literary talent from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The 2023 event will feature a large student art exhibition, literature readings, student performances, kids’ activities, artist demonstrations, and an awards ceremony. Youth Art Day 2023 will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at West Perry High School in Elliottsburg.

The Fremont Fire Department will be having their 4th ANNUAL MEAT BINGO ON SATURDAY, MARCH 18th. Event will be held at the Fremont Social Hall 299 Millrace Rd. Mount Pleasant Mills.
