Warwick Hosts LLMEA District/County Band Performances

The top high school musicians from 44 schools from three counties including Lancaster, York and Adams, came together to perform at Warwick High School this past weekend. Through an audition process in December, students auditioned on prepared pieces and the band is then selected from those students who earn seats in the ensemble. Director, said, “It’s incredible. The ability to watch a master teacher work with a band full of the best musicians is truly inspiring for both us as educators and for our students in our program.”

The conductor was Alex Kaminsky (VanderCook College of Music), who is shown with the musicians during a practice session. Students will now audition for Regionals and States after this level.

The Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley is dedicated to discovering, gathering and preserving materials and data relative to the community known as the Cocalico Valley. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.

Jeanna LaChelle Fox

Jeanna LaChelle Fox, 45, entered into the presence of Jesus on February 3, 2023. She was born in Tulsa, OK, on October 27, 1977. She was the loving daughter of Harvey and MaryAnn Fox of Lititz.

Jeanna was an incredibly gifted, loving, and caring person, and was deeply loved and admired by all those who knew her. Because of her love for Jesus, she made a difference in many people’s lives. She was an exceptional aunt to all her beloved nieces and nephews, showering them with never-ending care and attention.

She will be missed tremendously by her parents, Harvey and Mary Ann, and her siblings, Christie Ginder (Merlin), Durrel Fox (Rachel), and Jaired Fox (Debbie).

She was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Bernell and Matthew.

A visitation was held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Road, Lititz. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Hammer Creek Mennonite Church. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Eugene “Gene” Consylman, 79, husband of Shirley Ann Brugger Consylman, Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, January 18.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Darin Consylman, husband of Christina Consylman, Harrisburg; two daughters: Lori Proctor, wife of Lee Proctor, Lancaster, and Gina Consylman, wife of Andrew Hally, Charlestown, Massachusetts; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers: Tom Consylman; Glen Granger; and Robert Consylman; and a sister, Joyce Greenly.

Brittney Ann Horst, 34, wife of Benjamin W. Horst, Lititz, passed away on Thursday, January 26.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Micah; a daughter, Naomi; a brother, David, husband of Grace Johnston; and her grandmother, Betty Hall.

Stephen A. Neuroh, 60, Lititz, passed away on Thursday, January 26.

He is survived by his significant other, Kristy; her daughter, Sofia; two brothers: Daniel and Michael; and three sisters: Susan, Judith and Kathleen. Ann Steen, 94, Denver, passed away on Sunday, January 29.

She was the wife of the late Willy Steen.

Lois S. Burkhart

Lois S. Burkhart, 70, of Lincoln Christian Home, Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Lancaster to the late Thurman and Elizabeth (Stauffer) Burkhart.

She was a member of Denver Mennonite Church.

Lois was a school teacher. She loved playing board games, painting and drawing. She also enjoyed writing stories and articles.

Lois is survived by two sisters, Esther Mae Burkhart, and Kathryn Burkhart, wife of Horst Effenberger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Burkhart.
