Heart Gallery 20th Annual Art Benefit Auction

The Friendship Heart Gallery & Studio is excited to announce its 20th Annual Art Benefit Auction on Thursday, March 23, at Grace Church in Lititz, 501 West Lincoln Avenue. This event has been held virtually since 2020, due to the COVID19 pandemic but will be featured once again inperson! Come out to celebrate the amazing talents of the Friendship Heart Artist as they showcase their unique creativity through various mediums of art. The event will consist of light hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and a special program featuring the Heart Artists.

This year’s theme was inspired by a collaborative piece of art, which will be featured in the silent auction, titled “Together, Hand in Hand.” “This piece represents our commitment to creativity and our resilience as a community. It is a celebration of our ability to truly be “hand in hand” again at an inperson art auction since the pandemic,” says Shannon VanGyzen, the Studio Manager at the Lancaster City Studio.

A Paint Brush Pull will featured once again! For a cost per numbered paintbrush, you will be entered into a drawing for a Friendship Heart Gallery prize pack. Included in the basket are a number of Primitives by Kathy Collaborative Collection pieces, handmade cards, jewelry, and a $100 gift certificate good for a framed original painting from the gallery. The winning paintbrush will be announced at the end of the program.

If you are looking to make an impact on the Heart Artists, instructors, and volunteers elsewhere, two “FundANeed” opportunities are available that will go into making the Lancaster City Studio space better equipped for their needs. The first FundANeed item consists of large canvases so that the Heart Artists have opportunities to “think big” and express their creativity on a larger platform independently or collaboratively. The second FundANeed opportunity will go towards purchasing a high quality projector and screen, which will be used as an instructional tool and artmaking tool in the studio. It will allow the instructors to present to a group of Artists and it will give the Artists the opportunity to view their art in a new format. For more details on their FundaNeed items, please visit FriendshipArt.net/Bid.

To register for a bidder number and to purchase tickets for the inperson event, please visit FriendshipArt.net/Bid. The ticket price includes refreshments and a very special program featuring the Heart Artists. If you are unable to attend the inperson event, you can still register to bid during the online silent auction. By providing both a phone number and an email address, auction participants will be notified when he/she is outbid; by providing payment information up front, auction participants will have a faster and smoother checkout process at the end of the night. If attending in person, you must register separately for a bidder number.

First UMC Sets Lenten Services

Beginning Thursday evening after sunset, and lasting on through Friday, Jesus would eat the Last Supper with his disciples; pray in the Garden of Gethsemane; be betrayed and deserted by his friends; be convicted of blasphemy by the religious authorities; be tried and sentenced for insurrection by Pontius Pilate; be tortured by Roman soldiers; and undergo crucifixion, death, and burial.

This Lent, they would like to invite you on their journey, to a holiday in Jerusalem, not as tourists, but as followers of Christ. They will be sitting at the Last Supper with Jesus and his disciples. They will pray with Jesus at the
