Lititz Fire And Ice Festival Is Winter’s Coolest Event

The Annual Lititz Fire and Ice Festival kicked off this past Friday with the crew from DiMartino Ice Company creating one amazing ice sculpture after another along the downtown streets. The day started on the warm side, but thankfully temp­ multiplayer (4 or more players) games you wish to share with the group. Ages 13­18.

• Tuesday, February 21, 4:30 p.m. – Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead for Tweens. Join them for a fun afternoon of science, technology, engineering, arts and math using cool tech equipment eratures dropped as the day progressed. Other event activities included the Lititz Lions Chili Cook­Off and the Winter FUNderland event. This kid­focused day offered activities, bouncy attractions and more for the kids. Other returning events and robots supplied by the library! Ages 10­12.

• Tuesday, February 21 & 28, 5:30 p.m. - Beginner PowerPoint. Participants will be able to create a basic PowerPoint presentation and effectively navigate the software. This class will cover presentation planning, templates for slides and included a scavenger hunt, a photography exhibit highlighting iconic Lititz images, a Maker’s Market and much more. At the end of this week, a nationally renowned fire performer will wow the crowds. how they can be used, customization of slides, inserting pictures and manually presenting the slide show. The family is new to town all the way from North Carolina, and their pink coordinating attire seems to say, “We love Lititz!” advanced features of Outlook including templates for automatic responses, customizing signatures, contacts and tasks. Funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. Ages 18+.

• Wednesday, February 22, 3:30 p.m. - Library eSports Practice. Play, compete, practice, repeat! Join the library eSports team. Right now they are playing Rocket League and League of Legends. • Wednesdays, February 22, 10:00 a.m. - Lapsit Story Time. Infants, young toddlers and their caregivers sing songs, recite fun rhymes and read together. Participants also learn fingerplays, basic sign language and play together. Ages 0­24 months.

• Thursday, February 23, 1:00 p.m. - Kids S.T.E.A.M. Time. Preschoolers are invited to the library for simple science, technology, engineering, arts and math activities. Ages 3­7.

• Thursday, February 23, 4:00 p.m. - Tween Gamers Club. Join the library for some relaxation and video games on their Nintendo Switch! Feel free to bring any multiplayer (4 or more players) games you wish to share with the group. Ages 10­12.

• Thursday, February 23, 5:30 p.m. - Job Search Basics. Learn how to begin a successful job search online. Participants will be introduced to various job websites and hone their search skills to find positions that are appropriate for their skill set. Presented by CareerLink™ Lancaster County. • Thursday, February 23, 6:30 p.m. - Pajama Party Story Time. Join the library and enjoy the magic of the library at night. Get lost in bedtime stories, play games and enjoy some arts and crafts all while wearing your pajamas! Don’t forget to bring a favorite stuffed animal! Ages 3­7.

• Thursday, February 23, 7:00 p.m. - Late Night at the Library. Join them after hours for 3 hours of video games, board games, flashlight tag, laser tag and more! Attendees are invited to bring their favorite multiplayer games for Nintendo Switch. Ages 1318. Teens must be dropped off no later than 7:00 p.m. Ages 13­18.

• Saturday, February 25, 11:00 a.m. - Story Time.

Preschoolers are invited to this story time that integrates songs and concept­enriched finger plays. Early literacy skills, including letter and sound introduction, are included in each story time. Large and small motor skills are practiced with simple art activities. Ages 4­7.

• Saturday, February 25, 2:00 p.m. – Playful Creations. Explore your creative side with a variety of materials to make fun crafts that will help develop large and small motor skills! Ages 3­7.

• Mondays, February 27 & March 6, 5:30 p.m.Beginner Publisher. This class will focus on using Publisher and its included templates to create personal and professional materials such as flyers, thank you cards and newsletters.

Participants will be able to navigate the interface to choose templates, change graphics and customize the publication for their use. Part of the second session will be used to offer other free and paid resources for online desktop publishing. Funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. Ages 18+.

• Monday, February 27, 10:00 a.m. - Story Time.

Everything is possible as long as you can roll the dice. Designed by teens, for teens. New players are welcome! No prior experience needed. You must be registered to attend. Please do not register for both Group A and Group B as space is limited and they want everyone to have a chance to play. Ages 13­18.

• Tuesday, February 28, 4:30 p.m. – Kids Sewing Club. Students will learn how to use and develop simple hand sewing skills. Each week they will work on a fun project together that you can take home. No experience is necessary. Ages 6­12.

• Tuesday, February 28, 6:00 p.m. – True Crime Tuesday. Can’t get enough true crime podcasts and documentaries? Join them for a lively discussion about their favorite crime podcasts and series and get recommendations for what to listen to and watch next. This month they’ll discuss “BuzzFeed Unsolved: The Mysterious Death of the Boy in the Box.” Ryan and Shane investigate the mysterious death of the boy in the box, the name given to a young boy found naked and battered in a cardboard box. Ages 18+.
