Lititz Senior Center Lists Activities

The Lancaster County Office of Aging, Lititz Senior Center, located at Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 East Market Street, Lititz, is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with lunch served at noon. There is no cost to attend.

The Center serves independent Lancaster County seniors ages 60 and up from Ephrata, Rothsville, Akron, Neffsville and Lititz areas. Ephrata is also served by van service. Reservations for lunch and transportation must be made by 10:00 a.m., one day in advance, by calling the Center at 717626­2800.

Wednesday, March 22: Congregate Breakfast; 9:00 a.m., Tai Chi with Kathy; 10:30 a.m., Bingo; 9:30 a.m.­10:30 a.m., Mental Health America; Myths and Facts; 12:00 Noon, Lunch.

Thursday, March 23: 9:15 a.m., Exercise with Kathy; 10:15 a.m., Music with Matt Cleveland; 12:00 Noon, Lunch.

Monday, March 27: 9:15 a.m., Exercise with Kathy; 10:00 a.m., Medicare Bingo and Breakfast with Trevor; Bring a bag to shred; 12:00 Noon.

Wednesday, March 22: Pepper steak with 2 oz. gravy, 1/2 cup whipped potatoes, 1/2 cup diced carrots, wheat bread, 1/2 cup blushed pears.

Thursday, March 23: Hawaiian pork loin, 1/2 cup buttered noodles, 1/2 cup island blend vegetables, white bread, cookie.

Monday, March 27: BBQ chicken breast, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup coleslaw, wheat bread, fresh orange.

Ephrata Library Programs

The Ephrata Public Library, located at 550 South Reading Road, Ephrata, has announced their programs for March. Programs are open to the public and free of charge. Registration is required for programs and can be made by visiting the events calendar on the Library’s website (www.ephrata publiclibrary.org), by calling the Library at 717738­9291 or stopping into the library during normal business hours.

• Monday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Free Computer and Workforce Development Lab. Stop by the lobby for free computer and job searching help. Laptop computers will be available for public use and an EPL or CareerLink(TM) Lancaster staff member will be standing by to offer assistance. Walk­ins welcome! Funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.

• Tuesdays, March 21 & 28, 10:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.

– Toddler Time. Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to this 30­minute story time that includes songs, short stories and learning­enriched art activities. Ages 2­4.

• Tuesdays, March 21 & 28, 12:30 p.m. – Mahjong Club. Matching tiles has never been this much fun! Learn and play American Mahjong right here at the library. All skill levels welcome. Ages 18+.

• Wednesdays, March 22

& 29, 10:00 a.m. - Lapsit Story Time. Infants, young toddlers and their caregivers sing songs, recite fun rhymes and read together. Participants also learn fingerplays, basic sign language and play together. Ages 0­24 months.

• Wednesdays, March 22 & 29, 3:30 p.m. - Library eSports Practice. Play, compete, practice, repeat! Join the library eSports team. Right now they are playing Rocket League and League of Legends. Interested in becoming a member or looking for more information? Reach out to them at publicprograms@ ephratapubliclibrary.org. You must be at least 11 years old to join the team.

• Wednesday, March 22, 6:30 p.m. ­ Facebook 101. Participants will be able to learn the history and use of social media and why it was created. Participants will be able to create an account, navigate the interface, upload a photo/video, friend request, verbally and pictorially comment on posts and navigate privacy settings that are comfortable for them. Participants will be able to learn about appropriate photos and language on social media platforms and how the company handles violations of their appropriate use policy. Participants will be able to learn and evaluate requests to be friends on
