Fashion News: Royal Wedding Fashion Recently, hundreds of guests attended the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abby, London. Of those hundreds a handful really shinned in the fashion department. There were also some major flops, but why ruin such a beautiful moment in time with mention of hideous hats and unflattering frocks. Not this time. Instead here are some of the fashion wedding gowns we enjoyed seeing at the event.
First and foremost, a few comments on the brides dress. Kate was elegant and classic in her white Alexander McQueen gown. The lace detailing was reminiscent of what Princess Diana wore for her royal wedding. Keeping in true Kate fashion, she sported a plunging neckline that gave way to a bodice silhouette. Middleton’s gown is the stuff that fairytales are made of.
The trickiest part about dressing for a wedding is keeping your look polished, but not too glamorous as not to take attention from the bride on her big day. Charlene Wittstock, the fiancĂŠe of Prince Albert of Monaco, arrived looking elegantly understated in a figurehugging grey coat by Akris and a wide-brimmed, white hat. The look is classic and chic.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden didn’t disappoint. She wore a peach colored longsleeved V-neck Elie Saab Spring 2011 dress and corresponding heels. The wrap cinching at the top and bottom of the dress concealed and contoured her figure perfectly. Her matching wide brim hat and elegant bun tied everything together nicely
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s electric blue look was another head turner. She looked very elegant in this modernistic form fitting Deborah Miner dress, accessorized with matching gloves and fancy free fascinator hat. The fashion world will be talking about this dress for the months to come after the wedding. Leave it to the royals to give us style and fashion tips and trends, something to ooh and ahh over.
