LIBRARY STUDENT ASSISANT Temporary, Full-time (Summer job) Shortgrass Library System is looking for two highly motivated Library Student Assistants. These temporary, full time positions are supervised by the Manager of Systems and Technical Services, as part of the Bibliographic Services Team. General responsibilities include working as part of the Bibliographic Services Team by assisting with adding the holdings of the Gem Community Library, receiving materials, searching and loading bibliographic records and adding other items to the catalogue. The Library Student Assistants will also be responsible for helping member libraries advertise their summer reading program by designing and decorating a parade float, which will be used in various parades and summer festivals throughout southeastern Alberta. Training for all tasks mentioned will be provided on the job. Candidates must have a high school diploma. Enrollment in a Library related post-secondary program or work experience in libraries would be considered an asset. Other qualifications include ability to follow directions, great attention to detail and ability to work well in a team environment. $14/hour, 36.25 hours/week Start date: May 9th, 2016 Duration: approximately 16 weeks Due to the grant funding provided for these positions the following restrictions apply: the successful candidates must be Alberta residents between 15 and 30 years old and be full time students, intending to return to their post-secondary studies in the fall of 2016.
