Special Events
Session 1 : Runes and Names of Power Tuesday February 18, 2:00pm to 4:00pm In Runes, students will learn about the meanings of the Runes, and what runecasting is. In Names of Power, students will be introduced to the ancient science of Nomenology, the study of Names and the hidden secrets within them. Session 2: Magical Creatures Wednesday February 19, 2:00pm to 4:00pm You have heard of dragons, gryphons, fairies, and mermaids, but do you know about manticores, chimeras, tengu and nagas? In Magical Creatures, students will learn about many magical creatures which populate stories, myths and legends. Session 3: Crystals, Metals and Earth Magic Thursday February 20, 2:00pm to 4:00pm In this last class, students will learn about the various properties and uses of various stones, crystals and metals used in magic. Students will also learn about leylines, dowsing and the importance of certain landmarks. They will even get a chance to create their own dowsing tool and use it in class.

Children’s Programs Starry Night Stories Every Tuesday Night 6:30pm to 7:15pm
Starry night story time is an evening children’s program with bedtime theme stories, games, songs and crafts for all ages. Come with your sleeping buddies and get ready to for some ffun!! Sign up or drop in. All ages are welcome.
Tales for Tots
Every Wednesday and Friday Morning 10:30 am to 11:00 am Tales for Tots is a fantasy themed literacy program that incorporates sparkling stories and imaginative sing-alongs with interactive movement, for children ages four and under. Sign up or drop in. All ages are welcome.
Wii for Tweens
Thursday After School 3:45pm to 4:45pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi player games the Wii has to offer. Looking for more to do? We also have board games available to play. Wii Game Day is a free program for kids ages 7 to 12 and we supply snacks for all tween gamers. 4
Children’s Programs Book Bugs
Saturday February 1 and 15 10:30am to 11:00am Book bugs is an educational literacy program for children venturing into preschool and kindergarten. Reading, singing and learning can be fun! Valentine’s Day Finger and Feet Painting Friday February 14 12 Noon to 2:00pm
Enjoy a fun afternoon craft session and make a special Valentine’s Day gift for your valentine. For parents and kids ages six and under. Drop ins welcome to this free event.

Hue: a Matter of Colour Tuesday February 25 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Hue, by renowned director and cinematographer Vic Sarin, is a personal, heartfelt investigation into the history and on whereby often-tragic effects of colourism - the phenomenon people within the same ethnic group discriminate against each other based on differences in skin tone. Sarin travels to countries in Asia, South America, the Caribbean, South Asia and Africa to discuss this complex cross-cultural social issue with individuals whose lives it affects, including a Filipina entrepreneur whose business has flourished within the billion-dollar skin-whitening industry. Hue leads viewers on a thoughtful and surprising journey to the heart of an insidious social issue that is anything but black and white. Presented by the National Film Board of Canada 9
