Spring Carnival
Volunteers Needed The Brooks Public Library is looking for volunteers of all ages for our Spring Carnival, happening Saturday April 12, 2014. If you are interested in helping out with this fun community event please speak to our program coordinator, email cassandra@shortgrass.ca, or fill out a volunteer application form available at the Circulation desk. 3
Children’s Programs Tales for Tots
Every Wednesday and Friday Morning 10:30 am to 11:00 am Tales for Tots is a fantasy themed literacy program that incorporates sparkling stories and imaginative sing-alongs with interactive movement, for children ages four and under. Sign up or drop in. All ages are welcome.
Wii for Tweens
Thursday After School 3:45pm to 5:00pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi player games the Wii has to offer. Looking for more to do? We also have board games available to play. Wii Game Day is a free program for kids ages 7 to 12 and we supply snacks for all tween gamers.
Super Saturday: Dr. Seuss Saturday March 8 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Kids ages seven to twelve are invited to join uss for a morning filled with zany fun. Come and enjoy the stories of Dr. Seuss, as well as some Seuss themed games, crafts, and treats. Sign up or drop in to this free event. 4
Children’s Programs Book Bugs
Saturday March 15, and 29 10:30am to 11:00am Book bugs is an educational literacy program for children venturing into preschool and kindergarten. Reading, singing and learning can be fun! You can now check out Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, XBox 360, and XBox One games. Check out up to ten games for two weeks and have fun being a part of your own story. 5

Enjoy free movies at the Brooks Public Library! After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban ‘starter’ tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a nightly presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep - or at least try to . . . Teens 13 years old need a signed permission form from a parent or guardian. Pick yours up today in the Teen section.
