Children’s Programs Tales for Tots

Wednesdays, March 20 to April 24 10:15am to 10:45am Fridays, March 15 to April 26 2:30pm to 3:00pm Tales for Tots is our popular early literacy education program that incorporates stories and activities for preschool aged children. Parents and children ages three and under are welcome to sign up at the library today or by calling 403-362-2947 for this free children’s event.

Ready to Read

Wednesdays, March 20 to April 24 2:00pm to 2:30pm Fridays, March 15 to April 26 10:15am to 10:45am Ready to Read is our popular early literacy program that incorporates stories and activities for school age children to help prepare them for the challenges of learning how to read. Kids age four to six are welcome to sign up at the library today or by calling 403-362-2947 for this free children’s event.

Sleepy Time Story Time Tuesday Evenings 6:30pm to 7:00pm

New Night

Families and kids are welcome to join us for a free, relaxing evening before bed. Come for bed time stories, fun activities, and exciting sing-along-songs. Feel free to dress in your pajamas and bring your favourite bedtime buddy along. 4


Children’s Programs Wii for Tweens

Thursdays After School 3:30pm to 4:45pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi player games the Wii has to offer. Looking for more to do? We also have board games available to play with your friends. Wii Game Day is a free program for kids ages 7 to 12, and we supply snacks for all tween gamers.

Super Story Time: Dora & Diego Saturday April 13 10:30am to 11:30am

Vamanos! Parents and kids ages six and under are invited to join us for a morning filled with exploring and fun. Come and enjoy stories about Dora the Explorer and her cousin Diego, as well as some Dora and Diego themed games, crafts, and treats. Pre-registration for this program is required, sign up at the Circulation Desk today!

Super Saturday: Spy School Saturday April 13 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Do you have what it takes to become a spy? Kids ages seven to twelve are invited to sign up at the library today for an afternoon at our spy school. All potential agents will receive Spy training and complete a super secret mission! Register at the library today, space is limited.

Jerry Mulligan, a struggling American painter in Paris, is “discovered” by an influential heiress with an interest in more than Jerry’s art. Jerry in turn falls for Lise, a young French girl already engaged to a cabaret singer. Jerry jokes, sings and dances with his best friend, an acerbic would-be concert pianist, while romantic complications abound. 8

Sunday April 21 2:00pm to 4:00pm In Johannesburg Tsotsi is a teenager without feelings, hardened by his tough life. After a series of violent gang hits, Tsotsi hijacks a car. However, whilst driving, Tsotsi finds that there is a baby on the back seat. He brings the baby to his house in the slum. The next six days bring about a change in him that couldn’t be foreseen.
