Children’s Programs Sleepy Time Story Time Tuesday Evenings 6:30pm to 7:00pm
Families and kids are welcome to join us for a free, relaxing evening before bed. Come for bed time stories, fun activities, and exciting sing-along-songs. Feel free to dress in your pajamas and bring your favourite bedtime buddy along.
Wii for Tweens
Friday Afternoons 1:00pm to 3:00pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi player games the Wii has to offer. Looking for more to do? We also have board games available to play with your friends. Wii Game Day is a free program for kids ages 7 to 12, and we supply snacks for all tween gamers.
Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed Scavenger Hunt Monday July 8 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Join us as we hunt down Wilbur, the naked mole rat’s missing closet! Listen to a story about Wilbur’s life then help find his clothes on your way to SPEC to complete your perfect outfit and make a cool craft. This is a free event and you can register at the Brooks Public Library or the SPEC parentLINKcentre. Please remember to wear a hat and bring a bottle of water.

Celebrate the unveiling of our Children’s section mural at our Teddy Bears’ Picnic. There’ll be lots of marvellous things to eat and wonderful games to play so bring your favourite stuffed friend and enjoy this free family fun event.
Stella Louella’s Runaway Book Scavenger Hunt Monday July 22 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Stella Louella has lost the pages to her library book, and it is up to you to help her find them! Join us at the Brooks Public Library and help Stella search for them, then put it all together at SPEC. Travel with us to Australia and visit the Great Barrier Reef! This fun and interactive program will allow you to observe more than 5000 live sea creatures, experience the habitats, ecosystems and behaviour of reef creatures, and learn more about the latest in reef research.
