Star Wars: May the Fourth Padawan Story Time Saturday May 4 1:00pm to 1:20pm

Join the Brooks Public Library as we celebrate Star Wars Day on Saturday May 4th. Come enjoy listening to tales about the Jedi, droids, and your favourite Star wars characters at Padawan Story Time. All padawans and their masters (aka, kids and parents) are welcome to attend.

Droid Toss

Saturday May 4 1:00pm to 1:30pm May the Fourth be with you as we celebrate Star Wars Day on Saturday May 4th. Test your skills and accuracy at our fun droid toss game!

Outdoor Pod Races Saturday May 4

Make your own wearable Pod Racer ship costume at home, then come race against other pilots. Pre-registration for this event is required, sign up at the library now. Race 1: 6 years and under Race begins at 1:30pm Race 2: 7 to 12 years old Begins at 1:45pm Race 3: 13 to 17 years old Begins at 2:00pm Race 4: 18 years and over Begins at 2:15pm 4


Star Wars: May the Fourth Star Wars Tech Creation Station

Saturday May 4 Build your own Lightsaber 1:00pm to 2:00pm Every Jedi and Sith needs their very own lightsaber! Drop in and make yours! Build your own Droid 2:00pm to 3:00pm Build your own best friend out of droid parts at the library! For more information please call us at 403-362-2947.

Gungan Energy Ball Fight Saturday May 4 2:00pm to 2:30pm

Ready to get wet? Choose a side and have fun participating in our Gungan energy ball fight. All participants will be supplied with water balloons. May the best team win!

Star Wars Trivia

Saturday May 4 2:30pm to 3:00pm Think you know everything about the Star Wars universe. Test your knowledge against other fans at our game show style trivia contest. Participants must sign up at least 15 minutes prior to the event. Names will be randomly selected to play. Must be present at the event when your name is drawn. 5

Children’s Programs Tales for Tots

Wednesdays, May 15 to June 19 10:15am to 10:45am Fridays, May 24 to June 21 2:30pm to 3:00pm Tales for Tots is our popular early literacy education program that incorporates stories and activities for preschool aged children. Parents and children ages three and under are welcome to sign up at the library today.

Ready to Read

Wednesdays, May 17 to June 19 2:00pm to 2:30pm Fridays, May 24 to June 21 10:15am to 10:45am Ready to Read is our popular early literacy program that incorporates stories and activities for school age children to help prepare them for the challenges of learning how to read. Kids age four to six are welcome to sign up at the library today or by calling 403-362-2947 for this free children’s event.

Sleepy Time Story Time Tuesday Evenings 6:30pm to 7:00pm

Families and kids are welcome to join us for a free, relaxing evening before bed. Come for bed time stories, fun activities, and exciting sing-along-songs. Feel free to dress in your pajamas and bring your favourite bedtime buddy along. 8


Children’s Programs Wii for Tweens

Thursdays After School 3:30pm to 4:45pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi player games the Wii has to offer. Looking for more to do? We also have board games available to play with your friends. Wii Game Day is a free program for kids ages 7 to 12, and we supply snacks for all tween gamers.

Mother’s Day Craft Day Saturday May 11 1:00pm to 4:00pm

NO Mom’s allowed! Dads, Grandpas - bring the kids in to make a special gift for Mom. This is a free program no registration is required. Just drop on in!

Saturday Afternoons 1:00pm to 2:30pm Homework Help offers free one-to-one tutoring to students from Grades 7 to 12.
