Board Game Night Tuesdays Nov 10 & 24 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Put down the electronics and join us for some old school fun. We’ve got our favorite board games ready to go but feel free to bring your own game to share. This is an all ages free event!

Magic: The Gathering in the Library Every Thursday Night 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Are you looking for a way to play Magic while meeting new friends ? Grab your deck, then drop in and play Magic: The Gathering with other local players and practice your skills.

Artist Reception with Linda Wilson Tuesday, Nov 17 6:30pm to 8:00pm

This is your chance to meet artist Linda Wilson. Her beautiful work, “A 50 year study of the Badlands” will be in the gallery for the month of November. Get the chance to find out more about her work comprised of photos, sketches and paintings. Give us a call! 403-362-2947

Children’s Programs

Children’s Programs S is for Storytime

Wednesday or Friday Mornings Sept 16 to Nov 06 & Nov 18 to Dec 23 10:15am to 11:00am Children ages 5 and under are sure to enjoy this program filled with stories, songs and crafts. No two storytimes are alike but each is crafted towards an engaging theme that both parents and children alike are sure to love. Registration is required for these free programs.

Lego Club

Saturday Nov 14 2:30pm to 3:30pm Love lego? Join Shawna and Allison as they take you on a themed lego adventure. First you’ll listen to a story and then build your own lego creations all based on our weekly theme. Registration is required for this free monthly program for kids ages 5-12.

Join us as we launch our brand new baby storytime program. This 30 minute program focuses on interactive songs, rhymes and introduces board books to the babies.

Santa Claus is coming to the Library. Come tell Santa what you want for Christmas, and have your photo taken.

Registration and parent participation is required.

Photographs with Santa will be emailed, so please have your email address ready when you arrive. Donations greatly appreciated for photos with Santa.

Super Scaredy Squirrrel & Chester Day Saturday Nov 7 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Tanya Elliott - The Secret Blanket Tuesday, Nov 24th 6:30 - 7:30pm

Join us for a fun filled afternoon of stories, games and crafts centered around the loveable characters of Scaredy Squirrel & Chester created by Melanie Watt.

Local teacher and author Tanya Elliott will be here to read her new book, “The Secret Blanket” and talk about what her inspiration was to write it.

This is a free drop in event for families and children of all ages. We hope to see you there.

Volunteer Your Fines Away

Teen Advisory Board Wednesday Nov 4 6:30pm to 7:00pm

Come into the library for free food and drinks, and help us decide which books, CDs, DVDs, and video games to buy, teen programs to run, and much more. Open to all teens ages 13 to 17.

Wii for Tweens

Friday Aftenoons 3:00pm to 4:30pm Calling all gamers! Come in and enjoy playing the coolest multi-player games the Wii has to offer. Wii for Tweens is a drop in program for kids ages 7 to 12.

Lego Tween Scene

Wednesdays November 4 & 18 3:45-4:45 Do you enjoy playing with Lego? Come out after school to our free Lego Club! Each session will have a new theme to help spark your creativity. This club is a free, drop-in program for tweens who are 10 to 13 years old. 8 Teen & Tween Programs

Grandparents, Grandchildren and the Law

Advanced ESL Book Club

This video conference session looks at subjects like parenting of and contact with children (also referred to as custody and access), maintenance, and guardianship from the grandparent-grandchild perspective.

Want to practice reading in English? If so, join our Advanced ESL/ELL Book Club where we will be reading and discussing a book together.

In this video conference learn about the responsibilities of unmarried people living together as spouses. Topics for discussing will include cohabitation agreements, what an adult interdependent is, are and support of children, inheritance and property. Bring your questions to this free drop in event.
