For babies and toddlers from 4 months through 2 years of age with a parent or caregiver. Enjoy rhymes, songs, tickles and bounces. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE; PLEASE DROP-IN

TD SUMMER READING CLUB

STORYWALK®

August 9 - September 14 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm Police Point Park “Leon the Chameleon” by Melanie Watt will be the featured title for this summer Storywalk®. Families and friends of all ages are encouraged to join us on Sunday, August 9 for the opening ceremony. The story trail will open at 2:00 pm with crafts and activities in the Nature Centre until 4:30 pm. Throughout the day participants can earn tokens that can be redeemed at the Library for a prize! The last day to claim prize tokens will be October 4, 2015. For more information phone the Nature line: 403-529-6225. *Age limits for our programs are based on developmental and social targets appropriate to the age group. In order to participate a child must be within the posted age limit by the day of the program. We do not grant exceptions to our age limits as this could be seen as discriminatory to those who have not been admitted into a program.

KIDS YOGA @ THE LIBRARY (Ages 2 and up) Thursdays, July 2 - August 27 11:00 am Library Grounds

An introduction to yoga class for you and your child. In the case of inclement weather, class will move inside the library. Drop-in program. $5 fee per child, parents can participate for free. Bring a yoga mat if you have one. *Note: no class on July 16.

Players can participate once per day at the following times:

Mondays: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

July & August: Volunteers wanted to help sign kids up for Monoporead.

THE ERNESTINE HATPIN SHOW Thursday, July 16 10:30 am Library Grounds

SHOW

The Ernestine Hatpin Show must be seen & heard to be believed! Their 30-45 minute sets are jam-packed with interactive songs that involve everyone. The audience will be dancing, singing, clapping, and skipping. Children & adults (who are really just taller children) will leave smiling & just perhaps, singing about a certain red farm truck!

MHPL CELEBRATES 100 YEARS WITH 100 YEARS OF BEST-SELLING BOOKS AND MOVIES We are celebrating our 100th Anniversary by giving patrons the chance to celebrate the best-selling books and movies from the past 100 years. Stop by the library or visit our website beginning July 2 to see the list of best-selling books from the past 100 years. With nearly every best-selling book on display at the library and available to borrow, we invite you to read your way through the years. For the movie buffs, we’ve compiled a list of Academy Award winning movies dating back to when the award show first began in 1929. From July 2 - August 30 visit our website to vote for your favourites. The movie in each category with the most votes will be shown in our theatre over 10 weekends beginning on September 6. Passport to Knowledge participants can earn stamps for completing the survey and for attending the screenings.

THE PAPERBACK EXCHANGE IS BACK FOR THE 28th YEAR July and August 2015 Who: Adults and Young Adults. What: Fiction Paperbacks in good condition to be exchanged one-for-one. Where: Medicine Hat Public Library: By the self-checks on the main level. Share good books without any due dates. Bring your fiction paperbacks into the library and leave them in the pink basket by the Paperback Exchange racks. Then select the same number of books from the racks and enjoy. Repeat as often as you like!
