About
My name is Shir Zalcman and I am thirty-six years old. I am an Israeli artist based in central Israel. focusing on acrylic and charcoal mediums painted on a variety of canvas sizes. I’m creating a complex relationship between form, color, and emotional sensations. My work captures the essence of a feeling, creating a multitude of possibilities to be felt through the subjective experience of the viewer. I aim to provoke these feelings deep within ourselves that words are limited to describe, captured instead by the movements of our hearts caught in the midst of a visual vision.

A variety of indistinct shapes and imaginative forms, allude to more than what the eye can see in this work. Zalcman’s dynamic application of the paint in blues, greens, peach, pink and darker moments, elicits pure, almost tangible emotion. Her bold expression absolutely requires the attention of the observer. This piece stimulates a dialogue that engages those internal human pathways longing to break free and imagine. -E.E.
