How to Kagi

Like champagne and strawberries, sun and a good book, some things are just better together. Here are some of our favourite ways to combine your Kagi.

How to connect Kagi is all about multi-tasking separates that combine into infinite possibilities using smart and subtle design features:

SWITCH A GEM NB: Every locket comes with an instruction card (page 55).

ADD A PENDANT

CLOSE A CLASP

Push the O Link inwards to add a pendant.

Wrap a necklace around your neck and then close by using one of the two metal clip caps on either end of the strand.

ADD A CHARM Clip charms onto any bracelet using the clasp at the top of each charm.

SWITCH AN EARRING To switch an Earring Charm simply open the Hoop and slide off (page 52). 4

Due to Sterling silver being a very soft metal we use strong surgical stainless steel (316L) instead. This ensures clasps, clips and arms retain their original shape and function over time.

The Gems

We travel the world to source stunning gemstones and hand-select only the finest for our designs. When it comes to the rainbow we don’t pick favourites and each season bring you a sparkling cocktail of colour. Here are just some of the gemstones we use with their special qualities: TURQUOISE Turquoise is perhaps the oldest and most precious stone in history. Over the years it has been used by kings, shamans, and warriors for protection, luck, success and creativity.

The Pearls ‘Purity, perfection, elegance,’ are just some of the words associated with pearls. From Cleopatra, to Jackie Kennedy, to Elizabeth Taylor, pearls have held a special place in the hearts of women over the centuries. They are the jewellery version of the little black dress and the foundation of any good jewellery box. Kagi’s real pearls are grown in freshwater lakes and can take as long as 7 years to develop, each one unique in its own special way, just like you.

“I grew up being inspired by the bravery of my grandma. She hid a strand of pearls in her underwear for three years during World War II while in a prisoner of war camp. These pearls are still in my family today and hold such a special meaning.” – Kat Gee

BLACK agate Many of Kagi’s designs are made from black agate. This stone has unique properties which help balance the mind and body, and can aid in you finding your ‘inner strength’.

CAT’S EYE Cat’s eye is believed to bestow good luck and fortune on the wearer. Add some eye of the tiger to your wardrobe with this stunning hand cut gemstone.

Red ‘SEA BAMBOO’ Coral If you wish to attract love, then red coral is the gem for you! It is widely known as the ‘crystal of passion’ and could ignite something spicy in your life. Visit kagi.net for further information.

The Metals

We believe in selecting the best metal for each design. We therefore use a combination of metals and platings to achieve the right look, quality and affordability. Silver Our Sterling silver necklaces and bracelets are made from strong, surgical stainless steel coated in a thick silver plating. An additional varnish-like top coat is applied to further increase durability. This creates a high quality silver look without the high price tag or denting.

Rhodium Many of our pendants, charms and earrings are plated with Rhodium. Rhodium is one of the most reflective and expensive metals in the world and has a White Gold effect. We double dip our designs in the plating to make it thick and durable.

Gold & Rose Gold We use 9 carat Gold plating over strong, surgical stainless steel for our solid Gold & Rose Gold designs. These are Nickel free with an additional varnish-like top coat applied for protection. Our designs that feature diamond simulants are generally made from plating Gold and Rose Gold over an alternative base metal. Visit kagi.net for further information. 8
