MAIN STAGE: AMANDA BEARD... Four time Olympic Swimmer and 7 time medalist, Amanda Beard is one of our special guests. On Friday at 6:00pm, she will be sharing as an athlete about training, health and fitness and their roles in her life. Her presentation on Saturday at 1:00pm will be about her Olympic experience and is perfect for young athletes who are learning the benefits of hard work. Her 4:00pm Saturday presentation will touch on some heavier life experiences and including bulimia, cutting and depression and how she found the help needed to return balance and joy in her life which she describes as her greatest victory. Amanda will be signing her book “In the Water They Can’t See You Cry” after every presentation.

The first hour he will be tossing footballs around with kids at the Sport Court area as part of the NFL and United Dairy Industry of Michigan’s Fuel up to Play 60 campaign to keep kids active. The second hour you will find him signing autographs at the UDIM’s booth.

Michele Fife is a Yogini, a Yoga Therapist and a Peaceful Warrior. After many years of working in the fitness industry, she found her true home on the Yoga mat almost 20 years ago. Since that time she has had the opportunity to work with troubled youth, cancer survivors, inmates, and thousands of people from around the world. In 2006 she founded Seva Yoga in East Grand Rapids Michigan, and was blessed to see it thrive and become a Yoga sanctuary for students and teachers alike. Through Seva she has been able to travel around the world bringing Yoga and people together. In 2010 she started the Seva Yoga Teacher Training Shala – a 200 Hour RYT, Yoga Alliance accredited school. Every year now she sends new Yogis out into the community spreading the love. Her new DVD, “SIT“, available now, is a unique 60-minute yoga session Michele has developed utilizing a chair within the workout that serves as a balance support so your body can relax into a deeper stretch and allow for better focus. This session can be enjoyed in full or in part while at home, the office, anywhere. The first 25 attendees for each session of “SIT” Yoga will receive her new DVD for free.

A Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Certified Health Coach who is the owner of Live Positively Healthy. Maria lives with multiple food sensitivities and is an expert on finding and preparing satisfying substitutions for eliminated foods. She helps others with food sensitivities focus on what they can eat and not feel deprived. Maria has taught gluten/allergy free cooking classes at the Family Network in Wyoming for the past three years. She is also a board member of the Greater Grand Rapids Celiac Support Group and the Dietitians of West Michigan. Maria is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she is currently finishing her Masters Degree. 4

For the past 23 years Shari has worked as a dietitian in the grocery industry and has served as the Healthy Living Manager for Meijer, in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 2003. In Shari’s role, she manages consumer health communication, community events, nutrition programs, and solution selling strategies with a team of 4 other dietitians. Shari and her team serve as corporate spokespersons on food and nutrition issues and provide monthly television spots on several local TV stations reaching millions of consumers. Her team also provides numerous presentations to community groups and professional organizations. Their timely nutrition and food product information is distributed through a variety of educational brochures and social media.
TINA MILLER, MS RD... Meijer Healthy Living Advisor
Tina Miller, MS RD is the Meijer Dietitian and Healthy Living Advisor for East Michigan and Northern Ohio. Tina has over 20 years of experience as a registered dietitian and reaches thousands of consumers weekly through community events, media appearances, and educational presentations. As part of the Meijer healthy living team, Tina provides shoppers with simple advice on the selection of healthier foods and the creation of easy, affordable and healthy meals. Tina is a frequent guest on local TV news programs including WDIV TV4 Detroit, FOX2 News Detroit, WTOL TV11 Toledo and FOX news Toledo. She also is a weekly contributor to the Lucy Ann radio show heard on 1290AM with her accompanying Healthy Living blog found at the Lucy Ann Lance show website LucyAnnLance.com. Ms. Miller completed her undergraduate degree in Dietetics at Madonna University and subsequently interned at the Detroit Medical Center. Tina received her Masters of Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). She also serves as Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at EMU.

Melissa graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics as well as Nutrition, Fitness, and Health. Much of Melissa’s 14 years of experience as a dietitian has been focused in the areas of wellness, sports nutrition, and diabetes as a Certified Diabetes Educator. Melissa is now a Healthy Living Advisor for Meijer covering Indiana and Northwest Ohio. Her goal at Meijer is to make getting healthy easy and affordable for families. In her role, Melissa provides timely and healthy lifestyle information through TV, radio, print, social media, community events, and presentations. She also creates weekly menus that are nutritious, simple, and inexpensive so that families can more easily get meals on the table and enjoy what matters most, each other.
JENNIFER GRITTERS... Meijer Corporate Research Chef
Chef Jen Gritters is the Associate Corporate Research Chef at Meijer. She has her culinary management degree as well as a food science degree. Within her role she utilizes these skills to create innovative foods for all Meijer brands along with bridging the relationship between Meijer and it’s consumers. Chef Jen accomplishes this relationship by giving cooking demonstrations at multiple food shows throughout the year and a regular on several news shows. She has competed at the Supermarket Chef Showdown and judges multiple competitions. Chef Jen has been working for Meijer for over four years.
JAMIE VROMAN... Meijer PharmD, RPh, Clinical Services Pharmacist Northern Region
Jamie Vroman has served as the Clinical Services Pharmacist for the Northern region at Meijer Pharmacy for several years. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at Ferris State University and began at Meijer as an intern in 2005. When she became licensed in 2006, she staffed at the Ionia and Greenville Meijer Pharmacies. She then began doing the health screening/ cholesterol clinics for the Western half of the State. A few short years later she became one of the first pharmacists at Meijer to be trained in vaccinations. She feels especially passionate about immunizations for adults and children alike.
