In case you didn’t read the Welcome Letter this is The Tenth Anniversary of The Western Elite Sale and you will see that we have dug deep in to the very front end of our programs to bring you a star studded affair…AND NOT A BETTER WAY TO START THAN WITH 4406. This cow has intrigued me beyond description since the first time I laid eyes on her at 2:00 AM under a flash light. She has a pedigree loaded with history making old school genetics. Meyer, Who Made Who and Chill Factor are in the background of literally countless champions and high sellers…you may have to look back a ways but they are in there. And although she might be Old School on paper her kind and build is a current day breath of fresh air. I could attempt to describe her in detail but it could take pages and hours. The picture and video tell the story…If need more, please call me. Been flushed 3 times and averaged 8 embryos per flush. Her first flush by Hoss grossed nearly $50K. We have a litter of Maternal Made heifer calves out of 3099 that were born in the Spring of 2018 that are incredible. We have got Maternal Made’s coming next Spring and Loaded Up’s in the tank. selling one half interest - possession and/or the option to double up and own her all is negotiable after the sale. THIS IS A HIGHLY PROVEN POWER COW…THAT WILL ONLY BE FIVE IN THE SPRING. Let’s start by admiring her Son pictured here and on page 42 that will Sell as Lot A in this offering…HE IS A STUD!!! And, he has a full sister in the replacement pen at home that is equally as impressive. I can’t remember much but I do remember, just like it was yesterday when Grant Sojka had Summit on display AS A TWO YEAR OLD in Denver…I thought he was a great one, and a baldy to boot. We used the bull with great success and you will find me repeatedly praiseing him thru ought the catalog. 4222 is massive in her build, flawless in her profile and has as much muscle, bone and flexibility as you need to put in one. She sells Safe to Maternal Made and is on the fast track to the Donor Pen.

For the last several years I have offered Half Interest in one of my very best Troubadour Daughters. This may be one of the hardest to part with any part of. My first experience with the Troubadour females was at Collins Cattle Co in OK and I haven’t been able to get the taste out of my mouth since that day. 3083 came from Colby and CA as a heifer calf and is out of one of their great Meyer x Angus Cows. I absolutely love everything about this female. She is elegant through her front one third and a beautiful headed, flat shouldered, clean patterned cow that has text book like balance and structural quality. She has a perfect level rump, a hind leg to die for and is one of the deepest, softest Troubadour daughters EVER. She has been flushed one time and produced 8 transferable embryos which yielded an awesome litter by IGWT. The pick of which went to Lucky Strike out of the pasture. seller reserves the right to two successful flushes (each with a minimum of 6 transferable embryos) at the buyers convienence ad the sellers expense. They will be lined up around this one in Denver. This little baldy cow is an freak…the only difference between her and most freaks is, this one milks, breeds back, and maintains her flesh doing it. She is real moderate sized, and a belly dragging, bold sprung, BIG hipped female that has some base width and true center body shape. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the front one third of this bovine is INSANE. She hasn’t been flushed yet but sure needs to…and soon. I want to keep making females to replicate her but she has all the potential in the world to make Elite Show Steers…And is likely carrying one as we speak.

Here is another great young cow that absolutely makes my blood pump. She is an Irishman out of a Went bred Maine x Angus Cow that Christy found for me a few years ago. This young cow again has some real body shape, muscle and power about her. She has got the money making kind of turn and shape to her upper rib and top, is big hipped and thick clear to her hock. This is a big legged, good uddered, great balanced female that checks all the boxes. I can only begin to imagine the potential of the Here I am baby inside her. Rare opportunity to buy I cow that you can flush once to build front pasture replacements and the next time for big time bill paying show steers!!! Help yourself.

seller reserves the right to two successful flushes (each with a minimum of 6 transferable embryos) at the buyers convienence ad the sellers expense. High Maine lovers gather around!!! This is perhaps the highest quality, most versatile High Maine offered in the history of the Western Elite. This High Maine thing has really heated up the last several years. Most importantly is because of the quality of the cattle and undoubtedly the new Maine-Angus program has had a big impact. I was fortunate to judge the Highs at the Maine Junior National this summer and IT WAS IMPRESSIVE. Back to my cow. I call her versatile because she is one of the unique kinds that you can make Purebred Maines, MaineAngus or Show Steers. Phenotypically she has got it all and she is backed by the best genetics and cow families at Blind Badger Ranch. Safe to The Hottest Young Maine in the Business…Databank. I haven’t shared many of these Fever Pitch’s to date, but they are impressive. Fever Pitch is a BoJo x Meyer raised by Collins Cattle Co that was a Past Western Elite Sale Feature and took the yards by storm in 2013. I am not going to make excuses because the picture is a little dark…You are going to love this cow. She is a long, level spined, freaky necked, beautiful headed young cow that is the best haired female in the sale. 4013 is a big square hipped female with massive bone, great angles, good feet and a killer profile. I bred her back to McKinely because her 2018 heifer calf may be the best young female on the ranch.

I don’t care what color they are…when they are built like this one…I like them. But, her baldy face and her deep cherry red color doesn’t hurt anything either. This female was incredibly hairy as a calf and a yearling and will generate it. She is so clean, angular and feminine through her front end and a square built, big boned, straight lined female that is balanced and beautiful from any angle. She has got the quality and checks all the boxes to be a big time Donor. I’ve become a big fan of In God We Trust after one calf crop because of the consistent quality and added value of all of them. But, most importantly, at my place when you breed him to one built like 4201…ITS HOME RUN TIME!

Look for her to be a featured bred heifer when I break out the Hoss Daughters in 2020. 4020 is a picture of balance and femininity, she is beautiful necked, smooth made and as clean and attractive as the come…And Safe to IGWT.

Here is another American Idol daughter that I absolutely adore. Although she is the kind that I would expect to be a show steer making machine by the looks of her Maternal Made daughter that sells as Lot 51 she can go both ways. This cow freak necked, great balanced, good at the ground, loaded with muscle and stunning from the profile. The sky is the limit for the IGWT in this one.

You will be more impressed when you see this one in real life. She just would not cooperate fully in the picture pen. She has been an excellent producer for me. In fact, she has a Hoss daughter in the replacement pen that might the best one on the place. This thick ended, big ribbed, easy keeping cow in the prime of her life will get it done. Safe to Business Done Right for an immediate HOME RUN.

Bred 7/5/18 Man Among Boys (Maintainer) AMAA# 427197) • Safe AI These Solo daughters are the real deal and are the first to be offered. I have been hoarding these females for several reasons. The first is that they are so good and the second is there aren’t many of them so help your selves. 4007 is a model female… big, broody and feminine. They good uddered, sound built, stout made and attractive. The MAB in this one is sure to be the front pasture kind.

Bred 6/19/18 Hoss (Troubadour x Walks Alone x Hoo Doo) • Safe

Here is another big, stout Solo daughter with her whole life ahead of her. 4017 is a long bodied, up headed, beautiful fronted cow with worlds of power and dimension. I am a big believer that the true power of a great breeding bull comes from his mother…And Solo has a great mother. She is sired by a Kephart Bull called Forty Guns and out of a great Collins Cattle Co. daughter of Meyer 734. Great old school genetics with a 2019 power cow look.

Bred 6/4/18 Here I Am (Walks Alone x Goretska 805) • Safe AI

This may well be the thickest, stoutest Solo daughter of the bunch. She’s got a big, square, powerful hip and is a monster topped cow with depth and spring of rib to spare. I admire the length of body and neck along with the flat shoulder, feminine front and outstanding profile of this cow. These females have some size and punch to them so needed with some of the popular bulls today.

Bred 6/4/18 Here I Am (Walks Alone x Goretska 805) • Safe AI Unless you have already skipped forward in the catalog and snuck a peek of the Bred Heifers you are in for a great surprise. Yes, they are out of the best bulls in the business but a big part of just how incredible they are has to be attributed to their mother. $40 or $50 for a straw semen might improve your calf crop but, put that same money in a power cow like this and it will put you in the driver’s seat.

From the minute 007YJ arrived at Duello Cattle I knew she had to be flushed again to Turton and attempt to recreate the $55,000 daughter that sold the previous Fall in Paulsens Sale. But, I couldn’t wait to flush her to Troubadour…These two heifers were exactly what I was hoping for. I don’t know how you can build them much better than these two females. They have got that trademark Troubadour Showring Presence about them… Up headed, giraffe necked, flat shouldered, clean patterned, level designed and stout with a great running gear. She is level hipped, deep flanked, bold sprung, and a freewheeling beast with presence, power and quality to burn. The mating potential for these females is endless. As good as In God We Trust and Business Done right have done on the Troubadour cows at DCC, that would be where I would Start but they could fire with an array of bulls. You can clearly see from the photo that she has tremendous thickness thru her quarter and is unequalled thru her twist. What you can’t see is her strongest attribute and that is the dimension, shape and power down her top…its unreal!! This Maternal Made daughter traces back two of my favorite old cows on the ranch. Her mother, 1072 is great Trendsetter daughter that will generate quality every time. She is a big footed, beautiful uddered cow that is huge bodied, heavy boned, ultra-feminine, easy fleshing and breeds back early every time. Her grandmother, 548U is a Dubia daughter that I bought as a bred from Griswold many years ago. She might be the easiest fleshing, prettiest uddered cow on the place. She is getting some age on her but she stays fat, breeds back AI and has the youthful appearance of a five year old. 7034 is an extra big, square hipped female that will contend for the deepest bodied and softest flanked of the sisters. I have studied and watched these heifer mature and develop since they were babies and you can literally find a different favorite with every trip to the pasture. As a buyer, my advice to you is when these Maternal Made daughters start selling decide what you can spend and put your hand in the air until you run out of powder and don’t worry about which heifer is in the ring. They are all that good. 7050 is an elegant built, beautiful balanced, great bodied female that is up headed, clean made, stout constructed, smooth as glass and flat stunning from the profile. She mother is sired by a great Yellow Repo son from Kris Black and grandmother is an unbelievable Purebred Angus daughter of Total Recall that I own with Collins Cattle Co in Oklahoma.

And if you opened up to the bred heifers first, better turn back and mark the cow. Her mother (Lot 7) is the only High Maine in the Sale and she is incredible. The combination of Maternal Made, Rumor Mill, Sooner and the great Boss 84M has yield a great individual and a real GENETIC GEM. 7052 is an extremely deep bodied, bold sprung, easy keeping female with a near perfect hip and hind leg design. Here is another outstanding Flush Sister to Lot 93 out of the Legendary 7522 Alias Donor. We have raised and sold a lot of sisters to these two females with great success…They flat make great cows. The Troubadours are getting hard to come by and I’d be taking advantage of the opportunity to own one when it is presented. Trust me you are going to like the way the Collins Bean Babies come…And like them better every day.

These two females are Maternal Sisters to “The Girl Next Door” that was very successfully shown by Julia Dayton in California a few years ago. Their mother and their grandmothers spent many years in the Donor Pen at DCC. In fact their grandmother just wore out at age 17. Full sister to Lot 95.

SIRE: American Idol (Airhart Bred 3/4 Char) DAM: 9274T Donor - Troubadour x Meyer 734 x Angus Bred 5/23/18 Collins Bean (Mr Driven x Hef)- Calving Ease / Char Colored • Safe AI

Here is one you sure need to find when you get to Denver…And it won’t be hard to find her. She will be in the first or second pen with her more photogenic full sister Lot 48. This heifer just refused to pick it up a gear on picture day. This girl is long necked, big hipped, power legged and one of the biggest barreled and boldest built breds in the entire offering. Don’t miss this one.

SIRE: Man Among Boys (Maintainer AMAA#427197 DAM: 9274T Donor - Troubadour x Meyer 734 x Angus

Bred 6/23/18 4003 (My Kind Son) • Safe

The good cow families keep proving themselves…It is a family affair. Man Among Boys has really clicked with our late 9274T Donor. We lost the old cow this summer and she will be dearly missed by most. She’s got five bred heifers in this offering and they are all good. This would have to be one of my all-time favorite 9274T daughters. Supper stout, extra good looking, excellent structured and with a good attitude.

Lot 99 - Duello Man Among Boys 7112 7112 • Spring 2017 • Yellow Baldy

SIRE: Man Among Boys (Maintainer) AMAA# 427197 DAM: 9274T Donor - Troubadour x Meyer 734 x Angus Bred 5/18/18 Collins Bean (Mr Driven x Hef)- Calving Ease / Char Colored • Safe AI

I love this ultra-smooth, extra feminine red baldy. She is as good in her profile and lines as you need one to be. She is a good footed female with the kind of running gear it takes to build show cattle around. These Man Among Boys females out of maternal bred and built cows are making great cows. She’s going to have you a Char colored baby right out of the gate that will amount to something.

SIRE: Dirty Deeds (Monopoly x Irish Whiskey) DAM: Simmental x Maine

Bred 5/28/17 SAV Sensation 5615 (AAA# 18258149) • Safe AI

Endless possibilities with this one... and she sure is foxy. The right pedigree combination to make those clubbies or breeding heifers. This heifer has what it takes to be bred to just about any bull. We love her moderate frame size, nice muscle pattern, and she has just the right amount of twinkle in her eye to make those flashy upheaded ones! And don’t forget she is bred to the Angus bull Sensation... who is named adequately in our opinion!

These Troubadour females have really made their mark in the club calf business, and they are getting hard to come by. Only in the Western Elite will you find females with this quality in volume. As you can see Lots 101 – 103 are Direct Daughters one of the unique Irish Whiskey daughters I have ever seen. No matter what you breed her to they mirror their mother.

$50,000 Dam to Lots 101-103

Lot 102 - Duello Troubadour 7010 7010 • Spring 2017 • Char X

These females have as much body, depth, softness and fleshing ability as you can put in a good looking one. They are moderate sized, big barreled, bold sprung, big topped, easy fleshing, square built cattle that can flat out move. Consistency can sometimes be hard to come by in this business but that’s sure not the case with this mating. A wise man would buy them all three.

Bred 6/7/18 Total Soulution 1 (WMW x Habanero x Meyer) • Safe AI

Here is the silver one of the trio. Only difference is she is bred to Total Solution 1. These three Full Sisters are the most unique Troubadour daughters I have ever raised or maybe seen. You get that cocky Troubadour show presence in a chubby built, low to the ground, easy fleshing, moderate sized, freewheeling package. Truly special breeding pieces here.

SIRE: Hawkeye (Exit 174 x Monopoly) Lautner DAM: ML143 - Maine x Angus Bred 5/18/18 Collins Bean (Mr Driven x Hef)- Calving Ease / Char Colored • Safe AI

I have seen several good reports about these Hawkeyes in both the show ring and sale ring. Now this one is not graced with a lot of frame size but she more than makes up for that with her muscle, build and look. Most of these colored bred heifers are bred to Collins Bean, who is a Mr. Driven x Hef a double bred calving ease Char Colored bull raised by my great friends at Collins Cattle in Oklahoma. Colby assures me that they calve as easy as anything he has used on heifers and the cattle are flat good. So I bred them all to him. VIEW THE VIDEO PREVIEW OF EACH LOT AT WWW.DUELLOCATTLE.COM

This bull has a great job the last several years especially when it comes to making females. We have a couple crops of them in production now and they are extra good. This is a beautiful silver paint heifer with lots of style and profile. She is an extra-long necked, clean fronted, smooth shouldered female that is feminine and elegant in her build. She is good at the ground, balanced from the profile and stout enough. My experience says test her first to determine which of the Horn Livestock Bulls to use. If she’s clean…In God We Trust.
