In fact, if you think about it, all great architecture, from the Oak Park Houses of Frank Lloyd Wright to the temples of Kyoto, is – in that sense – regional. The buildings speak to us powerfully and eloquently of their time and place – that is why they become universal. Those Wright houses in Chicago’s suburbs could not have been built in London, or in Delhi. Like Chartre & Fatepur Sikri, they are rooted in the soil on which they stand. -Charles Correa
Personal Statement Epitomizing Winston Churchill’s quote - “ We shape our buildings, thereafter they shape us ”, it is undeniable that architects are the ones who shape the world we live in. I believe the role of an architect isn’t mere designing a building alone, but also creating spaces which harmonically interact with its surroundings to create a rather responsive mechanism making it all look in unison. It is my aim to be part of a community responsible for creating sustainable habitats for improved living standards and engaging in real-life problems aiming to provide alternatives to the global architecture and brute force engineering that are still a norm in most large cities.
Sustainability and technological advancements in buildings are key focal points in todays world towards improving environmental conditions in cities. The dynamic energy exchanges characterizing this relationship foster distinct changes in the climates of cities, the environmental performance of buildings, and the resulting comfort standards and energy consumption of their occupants.
Communication and team work is a skill I have developed and matured over the years of education during my B. Arch studies and my professional practice for nearly 2 years before pursuing my Masters in Architecture at the Architectural Association, School of Architecture, London. These skill set have proved to be very important as an Architect as we deal with a plethora of specialists from different parts of the world playing different roles in the project. I am confident the skills and experience I have, together with my commitment and passion for sustainable design and architecture would come a long way in shaping my career.
