As a low tech solution the finish could be done in-house using a simple household LPG cylinder with a blow torch and using linseed oil as a sealant. This not only gave a modern rustic finish but also provides protection from water and insects.

WASTE AND BIOMATERIAL EXPLORATIONS

Owing to the use of wood in the projects by the studio, there is a significant amount of wood waste that is generated. In order to minimize the amount of waste a solution to create various everyday products was considered.

Experiments were done with epoxy resin to create, products such as coasters, platters and other household items encasing the waste wood and fallen flora. Further in order to move towards usage of biomaterials, experiments with bioplastic were done to replace epoxy resin.
