How to combine contemporary jewellery with hard metal and soft lace?
G
enerally, Lace seems to set off female beauty, and jewellery is of the same sense. These accessories indicate of women’s beauty and status.
Firstly, lace is an important element in the fashion trend such as appearing in fashion design and furniture design. Secondly, jewellery is a significant accessory for people to decorate style and status. Therefore jewellery is changing to new style of
contemporary fashion jewellery to combine with different materials, not just only diamonds, gems and metals etc. The most important point is that my concept is the subversion of traditional jewellery and the creation of new fashion style jewellery in artistic work. Not only to keep traditional jewellery techniques but also to integrate other skills in jewellery design. The question through paper, leather and metal to explore contemporary jewellery and created two collections.

I
nspiration
I got inspired from Queen Elizabeth 1's lace collar and England national flower-Rose. Especially, paper jewellery attract me contemporary jewellery interest. From my research and sketch ideas, I explored different materials and techniques to testing soft and hard results. Through research and samples, I decided my design structure elements in terms of folding, twisting, stitching and repeating. Besides lace pattern, I designed from my negative and positive rose drawing development.
