BAITASI is a complex area located literally in the center of BEIJING .The thing I always thought remarkable about this place is its persistence in highly developed city, it is a place full of history and memory. You can see many tourists saturated in this place and together have many people living here. And our research started focusing on the doors in hutong. Seeing through the door you don’t know how deep the it is and how the road twists .In fact all these small road in the yard are precious space. Not only for traffic but also for stacking things , hanging the clothes and social life. As a grounded visionary, our aspiration in this area is to establish a more decent way of living .So we looking for a way to extend this space. Remove old things on the road and plug in a fluid wall which will give more function and possibility in this small space.

NO.3 Gongmenkou 1st Alley

Luxun Museum Fusuijing Building Miaoying Temple

Aera is located near the city of Beijing, Xicheng District Baitasi. Among the three landmark buildings, the rest of the building are dominated by traditional alley and courtyard. After a long period of urban development, the courtyard has also been a huge change. In this regard, we chose three of the current representative courtyards as sample to analysis. Then we did some Investigation and research on the situation about living population, space plan, proportion of living things to public space and so on.We want to know how residents organize the living things in public space.

Survey found that the usage of lane is closely related with the depth of the alley,so we decided to use slicing to research.

Using software for automatic slicing.

This is the type L.

One of the slices. We select the a short as the research object in the alley.

Each alley slice contains the space for items, and the space for people to use, we call they are negative space and active space.Negative space consists of all kinds of goods, at the same time, the expansion of the negative space compresses the active space.

contemporary yard ANALYSIS PROCESS

Slice analysis, look for the optimal proportion of positive and negative space, on this basis to optimize the space.

After a long development, contemporary yard has become a strong diversity, high density integrated space. Many things are randomly stacking in the yard such as bikes, lant clothes, and maschines. They adjust to local conditions by embeding in every corner in the space, be used to maximize space. But sometimes there are still unreasonable. We hope to reset all these things and organize them in a new space form, so as to optimize the unreasonable space. At the same time, we will try to plug in some new spaces to offer some new functions.

We measured the distance between the outline of the negative space and the edge of the alley to research the space that goods occupy.

active space of type L(40 slices and each interval between two slices is 100 mm)

type L: 1.the outline of the two kinds of spaces 2.the distance between outline and the edge of the alley

active space of type Y(40 slices and each interval between two slices is 100 mm)

type Y: 1.the outline of the two kinds of spaces 2.the distance between outline and the edge of the alley

active space of type O(50 slices and each interval between two slices is 100 mm)

type O: 1.the outline of the two kinds of spaces 2.the distance between outline and the edge of the alley

According to the different positions of the functionality required to form the corresponding flow.

By slicing analysis to understand the different functional requirements of the narrow space. Combined with the simulation of people activities to accurately know the ratio of space used, and assist us to grasp the scale in the design, then guide design. Use of the new proportion of positive and negative space section to produce new slice and reconnect. The scheme is based on the reorganization of space. Original messy and stray space is integrated by a streamlined form. On the one hand this form makes the space to be more orderly, on the other hand enhances the experience of space, makes the space look more graceful.

Using software to simulate different levels of people flow. To distinguish which space should be used as storage, which space should be directly used by people.

event

In the past, the space was always play an important role in the building. Architecture as a discipline, not only had its own function, also contained the society, the environment, the local way of life at that time, and many other factors. How to creat a fair and reasonable space in the different time and place, became an important topic for architecture has been discussed.Today, I found that the description of the event in the architecture, as the description of the space.Today's architecture may become an urban activity of generator, and train, encourage, explore new life style. People, as the basic unit of urban activities, the rise or fall of human activity determines the direction of urban development. However, life is not eternal, physical is the fact that humans can’t leave. But I always seem to give the life a lot of attention, so that we even ignore the death. For individuals, every moments there are tens of thousands of cells die, the process of death starts during the individual daily life. If we treat the death as a slow process, when at the end of this moment, is the time of this process is complete.People living in the city, every day go to work, school, shop, park and so on, all of these are a part of this process. These belong to the individual special "memory". Different individuals of the same city, have been to countless places where countless events happen. So there

are a variety of “memory”of the city which might be same. When the individuals die, their “memory” could disappear with them. Whether can preserve “memory”as these individuals’ bones? And make the remains of the deads are no longer ashes that have no emotion. If we can, what role a building plays? For the legacy “memory”,must change the spirit of the sites in the construction. But what influences these changes have, and whether will lead some new events? The pieces that make up the “memory” occurred in the city. I find many types of features (might be buildings or other elements) in different urban spaces and where the simlar events happen from different individuals, and then put them togethe in one way like montage. “Memory” fragments of doping in it. At this time, the buildings are no longer as the "process" the last time point of space, but contains the period in the city "memory" of each individual pieces.Like the city in the past for enrichment, record this period "memory" of people, even in this period the "memory" of the city. In this cemetery, building tries to establish a relationship between the living and the dead to make people could feel the memory of the dead. So that deceased memories are retained. Perspective of this cemetery.

Access memory fragments from the city, and then express these which contain spaces, behaviors and other characteristics in an abstract way.

The collected life segments were placed in the rectangular area of 30*60 m. I visit the city in a variety of places of scale for try to find the memories of people who live in this city. At the same time,I collect various types of spaces in the city and the behaviors of individuals in these spaces. These individual behaviors (I call them "individual memories") constitute the urban memory.

We collecte various types of events that deceased experienced in the city and abstract them into graphics. Each kind of these graphics expression with one type of events. As fragments of "memories". Different spaces, crowds and behaviors, feelings impact the events so that create different segments of these “memories”. Then we will try to expresse each graphic with some architecture words which like space or creation of one event, and put them in a complex organization of building. People will feel the same feeling from a “graphic” when they go into the building. As a cemetery buiding, in addition to space as a result of the concept to guide, the

use of the basic function should also be considered. Here, the cemetery is no longer as in the past were limited in a certain area, they may appear in any place with some characteristics. The several basic functions interact with each other, at the same time associate with each cemetery anywhere.

In this building, debris symbols establish a relationship between the living and the dead. Ultimately, the living will feel the memories (of the dead), and the memories are reserved.

In the process of urbanization in the city, how to make the city keep its original vitality become the topic of a regional center. In numerous appearances in the material economy, what is the driving force behind the urban vitality?Explore the urban vitality is to guide us to create a comfortable living space indispensable prerequisite.

Paris

For Durban, as the region's second largest town of South Africa, flourishing but lively scene gives the left a deep impression. What makes a vibrant Durban? The answer is people. However, when the city reached a certain degree of vigor, due to the limitations of urban space, leading to problems come. How to develop more space in limited cities? How to keep Durban’s maintaining vitality and improve people's living environment?Standing bustle of the city center, blue sky overhead, a clouds that sail over, maybe it can give us an answer.

Abolish apartheid, democracy gradually formed .

Economiy gradually blooming , the market was re-opening.

Emerging markets appeared in the city-gap.

Warwick after experiencing all the changes , formed a relatively mature market system gradually. However, poor infrastructure, poor living conditions has become a stumbling block for urban development. We intended to improve the living conditions of the situation in the region while maintaining the existing market structure and the urban vitality it contained. We should develop the “up-space” above Brook Market.

In Durban streets, squares and bazaar, there will be somethings like balloons. Their emergence offers more usable space but also can solve some problems concerning infrastructure. For different occasions, different users, these “balloon” also have different size and scale.

Living buildings need manpower and tools to build. After a long period of development, the height of the building is also slowly increased. Cities are gradually filled with high rises, creating more space in a limited plane. Followed by a high density of living space and an increasingly crowded living environment. In such a situation, it seems that only the space on the top of the head can be used for people. Development “up-space” of urban, without prejudice to the existing urban vitality, while providing more facilities, improve people's living conditions and create a more vibrant city.

Shanghai Different cities, different environment, and the use of “up-space” is also different. Satisfying the functional while ensure the original urban emotion.

We use the existing market structure, weave a giant three-dimensional network with intricate lines. Provide a place where cells can attached. At the same time people can adjust the height of the unit body according to their needs.

suspension means connected to the main structure , so make it in the air. Vice structure to help prop up the main structure of each cell morphology.

How to solve the problem of functions Q1:keep frech

We found that the cell structure of the bilayer membrane can be a good coordination of information about inside and outside the cell membrane and the energy transfer. And that is also equally suited our units.Inspired by the cell membrane, we give the units the same “bilayer membrane while adding three kinds of component insertion. Like the three same proteins in the cell membrane, so that each unit has an independent self-sufficient ability to meet the basic living conditions.

Q2:no water

As membrane proteins across cell membranes, Empty hole provide fresh air to the units.

Such member is interposed inside of the film , the same as the blisters, through by absorbent material collect rainwater. Absorbent material contact surface and these blisters are a root similar to the capillary tube.Water through these "vein" into the blisters.

Outer surface of the membrane can provide a solar energy ,it can collection device for a unit.

Water cycle system The internal water system.

Water as a flow of energy, full of the vitality. Blister on the membrane contact each other to form a water circulation system, at the same time, bring vitality to bring the unit body.

Water which is collected in a centralized storage space at the bottom of the unit to facilitate people to use.

Workers make the structural member of the units in the factory.

As the same time, other workers lift the wire up we needed to support.

Design appropriate functional components and units’ size based on the user's usage.

Market consisted by many booths, make the market more energetic. But Lack of infrastructure and difficult living conditions make them difficult to become a part of urban vitality. For such problems, except infrastructure, we hope that every family has a well Temporary home can able to solve their living problems. Such prefabricated unit can easy to make in the factory. According to different use groups,

Production the units and send to markets.

And then, hung the units up beyond our heads.

Or put it on the network , you can start using it.

adjust functional components of the units size and alse. Then sent to their market, they can use it. Well, in order to do not affect their existing living conditions as far as possible, these units hung in the air. People use Ladders and other tools pass in and out the unit. We hope give people in market a own space for a longterm and has the basic functions. With their families and enjoy a cozy night. Stop and smell the flowers, the children are playing in the afternoon.

Accompanied by the first rays of the morning sunshine , people begin their day-life.

Moved the goods from the cell and ready for their booth. Vandag is 'n goeie dag.

Another day is over, have rest early 'goeie nag'. Everyone put things together and store the harvest in the cell temporarily.

Bustling Crowds from time to time someone stuck in booth , chatting with customers and bosses. It’s time to have lunch! It’s a hot noon again… Let us find a place to eat and enjoy the cool.

It’s afternoon, seize the time to sell our own goods, for more money.

The design is located in Beijing Xiangshan botanical garden, the forest park is away from the downtown so that there is a clean and leisurely environment. The design is based on the site as well as the natural environment, use of terrain and downs make the building into natural environment The design of a large number of open space, its purpose is to make it easier for people to enter the nature.

located in the northeast corner of Beijing

For a long time, building always means a closed space, like its essence, it exists as a shelter. Nowadays, with the development of architecture, building has more meanings. Among them, the combination of building and environment is one of them. Building reflects human life to a certain extent, its existence and function are determined by the environment of life, but the feeling of space can be produced by the building itself. Breaking through the boundaries of the wall, blurring the inner and outer boundaries, this space may be more natural. Forest Park has an excellent natural environment, and the location of the villa is also here. If this nature can be perceived, it must be a wonderful experience. So I began to explore various ways to try to connect people with nature better. Through the analysis of the site, I captured a contour line through the site. In fact, this line does not exist, but I refined it out. Subsequently, along the line, towers, courtyards, corridors,
