Here’s How Google Analytics View Filters can Be Used to Exclude Multiple IPs

To view your website’s traffic insights and data, you need access to Google analytics that equips you with a dashboard with traffic statistics. I have been using Google Analytics tool for years now and I think that still, people make one common mistake i.e. not to excluding multiple internal IPs which is very crucial. If you are a webmaster and is running your own digital marketing agency, then

you probably log into your Google account and look at the statistics of your website more than three to four times. In that case, it’s very important to exclude your IP from getting checked. One of the best ways to do that is to filter it by putting your id in the exclusion list of Google. There are multiple ways such as Subnet of IPS, IP ranges, and Random IPs by which you can do exactly that. Here’s how to do it:

1. Make Exception for Subnet of IPs If you want to exclude a subset of your IPs than you would need to create a new view filter with the tab ‘predefined’ chosen. Now, you would need to exclude the parent of your subnet of IPs. For example, writing 192.168.0 in the IP address field with help you do that.

2. Exclude a Range of IPs Sometimes, excluding a range of IPs becomes the momentous top priority. In that case, create a new filter

view, choose the ‘predefined’ tab, and write down the IP range you want to exclude. For instance, if you want to exclude an IP series of 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.0.9 then add ‘^192\.168\.0\.[0-9]$’ in the filter field.

3. Exclude Random IPs To exclude any random set of IPs, you would need to follow the same procedure except the last step of the series. The symbol ‘|’ is used to separate one IP from another.

That

means,

insert

the

value

^192.168.0.34$|^122.101.1.1$ to separate both two IPs. Despite sounding daunting at first, excluding IPs is rather an easy and crucial process for your digital marketing company. There are also a great many numbers of online tools that allow you to do the same in a convenient way. Resources>> https://goo.gl/oHWb9h
