AYURVEDIC MEDICINE FOR KIDNEY DISEASE V/S ALLOPATHIC TREATMENT

Chronic kidney disease treatment in Ayurveda is one of the widely used medications for kidney failures these days. The fact does not change that people also run for the Allopathic treatments. Only people who have complete knowledge of Ayurveda have shifted their minds from Allopathy to Ayurveda.

For every disease, as Allopathy gives treatment, Ayurveda serves the same purpose in the same. The benefit of Ayurveda is that it heals the disease in a completely natural way and right from the root.

There are treatments for kidney diseases in both medicines – Ayurveda and Allopathy.

Let us see the treatments that Allopathy provides for your kidney failures and damages.

DIALYSIS

This is the most heard and used allopathic treatment for kidney-related problems. What actually happens in a dialysis treatment is that it helps

in purifying and filtering the blood using a machine. The excess water and toxins from your blood and filtered and thrown out using the dialysis machine. This is one way to make the kidney work in a normal way all over again. Dialysis is way too expensive and everyone cannot afford it. There are 2 kinds of dialysis which can be given to a patient who is suffering from kidney problems:

Peritoneal dialysis Under this treatment, your blood is cleansed using the lining area of your belly.

Hemodialysis

Under this, a machine is used to clean the blood and is for a short period as the name suggests.

The life expectancy of a person increases who are undergoing dialysis. But the number of years depends on patient to patient. Usually, the slab of age increases by 5-10 years. But, with such heavy treatments comes various side effects too. The side effects of dialysis can be listed as:

Dry skin

Itchy skin

Low blood pressure

During and after the sessions when the patient undergoes dialysis, he may feel nausea.

Muscle cramps are a common side effect of dialysis.

It is suggested that you do not eat anything during dialysis unless and until you are diabetic.

Well, after a few weeks of the dialysis kidneys start working as normal and then the treatment can be stopped. But, this again depends upon the severity. Sometimes, dialysis does not work and then the other allopathic treatment is to undergo a kidney transplant.

It is seen that after dialysis, patients start living a normal life but, the point to be kept in mind is that unless and until a transplant is not done, the patient has to undergo the treatment of dialysis.

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

In case a patient is at the end stage of kidney failure, a kidney transplant is required on an immediate basis. For a kidney transplant, the patient requires a donor who can donate his kidney to the affected. Well, it is not necessary that a living person only donates the kidney. Nowadays, even the deceased person’s kidneys can be used if they have donated their organs.

The very first step for a kidney transplant is that the kidney of the donor shall match wit that of the affected.

Basically the transplant is categorized into 3 ways:

Living donor

Paired kidney exchange

Deceased donor transplant

People who undergo the transplant definitely live longer than the people on dialysis. On dialysis, it said that the minimum age will be 5 years more which is increased in the case of transplant to 20 years.

But, kidney transplant comes with a risk too. It happens at times that your body denies taking the kidney. Though this condition is rare. The other question which will pop up in your mind is that does the life of the donor reduce?

The answer to this is that the life of the donor does not reduce or gets exchanged with that of the patient. Though they may suffer from few problems because of a singe kidney there is nothing major in it.

Death is the biggest risk during a kidney transplant. Though the risk of death reduces in case a donor is a living person because proper precautions are taken care of. As your body has been operated there will be no pain in any other area other than the operated area.

To be good and a potential donor the donor shall not be used to smoking, drinking or consumption of any toxic substances.

Now, when we compare allopathy to Ayurveda, ayurvedic medicine for kidney disease will always be the best choice. The reasons are mentioned below:

Ayurveda is a completely natural medication. It is made from herbs and natural extracts whereas allopathy uses drugs.

It has no side effects but allopathic treatment has a lot of side effects on the human body.

It will treat the kidney disease from the root cause. Unlike kidneys undergoing dialysis who know that their kidneys are not being cured of the root. The call is yours. To treat your disease from the root and eliminate it from your life completely or you want to live with the fear that it will recur back.

The cost of Ayurveda is much less as compared to the allopathic treatments. The kidney dialysis and transplants are a costly affair. People who are not aware of Ayurveda fall into the trouble of allopathic treatment and when they cannot pay the hefty amount of those treatments, they get caged within and the end result is death in such cases.

One can use Ayurveda with allopathy together. If it has been only one month that you have started the allopathic treatment then you can stop and start using the ayurvedic treatment and even if not stop the allopathic, you can start ayurvedic medication for the same. But, if you

are under the allopathic treatment for too long then, you shall slowly shift to Ayurveda.
