Seton Hill Career Center Services for Employers In this brochure you’ll find some of our most popular options for employers. Please let us know how we can assist you in recruiting talented Seton Hill students and alumni.

Post A Position As a prospective (or current) employer of Seton Hill students, you are welcome to post a variety of opportunities - including full-time, part-time, internship, freelance, seasonal and volunteer positions – by creating an account on our online recruiting system, Handshake. Find Handshake under Employer Services at setonhill.edu/careerservices.

Employer-In-Residence Program Be our special guest for a day! The Career and Professional Development Center helps to promote your campus visit through social media, targeted emails and posting your fliers. Options for your campus visit include: • On-campus interviews (after you’ve posted your position to Handshake). • Classroom presentations to reach out to specific majors. • Employer information table at key campus locations from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. • Advice & A Slice Information Session: Order pizza and host a session to provide students with advice on career-related topics and information about your company. • Resume critiques & mock interviews. 1


Externship/Job Shadowing Program Show students what you have to offer! Host a student (or group of students) at your site for a day to acquaint them with your company and industry. Ideas for activities include: • A facility tour, including a demonstration of industry specific software or tools.

MBA Grad Laurie English Named HR Professional of the Year In May 2019, the Westmoreland Human Resources Association (WHRA) named Laurie English (MBA 2001) HR Professional of the Year. Laurie currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Excela Health. In this role, she oversees employee relations, recruitment, compensation, employee safety, Human Resource Information Systems, benefits, payroll, workers’ compensation and employee health for the largest private employer in Westmoreland County. “My experience at Seton Hill University and the program was outstanding in preparing me for the position and role that I have today.” Read all of our alumni success stories at setonhill.edu/success.

Rebecca Robinson ‘12 Finds Work as Public Defender a Challenge and a Privilege

Rebecca Robinson finds herself routinely remembering the lessons she learned as a Seton Hill student as she serves as a public defender in Philadelphia. Every day, Robinson serves her clients to the best of her ability - remembering that every person is worthy of dignity and respect.

Robinson’s path to the law began with a simple drive her father took onto the Seton Hill University campus while she was in high school and being recruited to play volleyball for the Griffins. Robinson, who majored in political science and history with a minor in philosophy, said she had thought about teaching or social work until her junior year when she took a prelaw course taught by Westmoreland County Assistant District Attorney Peter Flanigan.
