Not a problem. Many students start college before making a decision on a major field of study. It’s also common to change majors as you move through your academic career.
If you enroll at Seton Hill as an “undecided” major, you will be assigned an Exploratory Studies Program advisor. Your advisor will help you:
• Explore majors and careers that match your strengths and interests.
• Enroll in courses that will fulfill basic requirements for most majors, so you won’t be behind in your academic career once you make a decision on a major.
Once you’ve decided on a major, you will be reassigned to a new advisor: a faculty member who teaches in your chosen field of study.
Because Seton Hill is a small school, it is easy to personalize your degree. Here, you can:
• Design your own major.
• Join 2 majors to create a unique double major.
• Choose a major and a minor - or multiple minors.
• Take courses in all 5 of our schools of study:
• Business & Technology
• Education & Applied Social Sciences
• Humanities
• Natural & Health Sciences
• Visual & Performing Arts
Add a certificate to a major.
You’ll never be “trapped” in a major that isn’t a good fit. If you choose a field of study that doesn’t work out, you can return to the Exploratory Studies Program. Your Exploratory Studies Program Advisor will work with you to chart a new way forward.
At Seton Hill, you can prepare yourself for a strong career in any industry, from healthcare to performing arts to business. Our award-winning Center for Career and Professional Development will work with you and your Exploratory Studies Program Advisor to help you explore careers that will be meaningful to you.
