Greetings: It is a pleasure to welcome the attendees to the 44th Annual Gospel Music Workshop of America National Convention held at the Tampa Convention Center on August 13-19, 2011. It is an honor to have been chosen to host this important conference once again and we hope you enjoy your time in Tampa. While you are here, I encourage you to experience our great city. A visit to our ever-growing downtown area, or the exciting Channelside and historic Ybor entertainment districts, will provide you with plenty to see and do. Whether it be relaxing at outdoor cafes, walking along the Riverwalk or taking a stroll along Bayshore Boulevard, it will be evident how much we have put into ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment for all. We encourage you to enjoy many of our attractions, including the Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens and the Lowry Park Zoo. Of particular note are the new Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. These are state-of-the-art facilities honoring our community’s history and heritage – must sees for both visitors and residents. Once again, welcome to our city and best wishes to each of you for a successful and memorable conference. We hope you have an enjoyable stay and return soon. Sincerely,
Bob Buckhorn
