Summer Service Project Ideas

Division 26 Lt. Governor ShyAnne Wood

Salutations Division 26, It is now officially summer, just hope the weather picks up a little and soon! Relaxation is the main component of a summer vacation, it’s what each one of use looks forward to throughout the year. But being a Key Clubber never stops. Get out there and help others and you can ensure others will also have a more enjoyable summer. As much as I love summer myself I cannot wait to get back to the school year so I can start working more frequently with the clubs in the division. I am busily working away at officer training material and getting in contact with various Kiwanis clubs so I am ready to run in September. Enjoy the Summer!

In Your Service, Lt. Governor ShyAnne Wood

Upcoming Events 

A Fall Rally, containing officer workshops and something for every member will be held sometime this Autumn. Sometime in November, the first divisional meeting of the new service year will be held. Please keep these events in mind and keep your eyes open for more information and events as they come up.

Reminders 

Secretaries, please remember to submit Monthly Report Forms (MRF’s). These help you report the projects and other things your club has accomplished. Even though it is past the school year, feel free submit reports for the last couple months. Better late than never. Report forms can be found on the district website (www.nydkc.org) When you are on the site, click on the paperwork/resources tab, club resources, and then report forms. Also don’t forget Lieutenant Governor Evaluation Forms. These can be found in the same location. If there are any questions please contact me.

Service Spotlight Requests Have something great that your club has done that you want to share? If so write up a small paragraph about what your club has done, include a photo, and email it to Lt. Governor ShyAnne Wood. There is no competition on who will make it into the newsletter, all entries received will be published.

Key Clubbers from all over will be traveling to Washington D.C, for Key Club International Convention. The convention will take place July 3 – 7 2013 at the Washington Hilton. Key Clubbers will be enjoying two main entertainers, Key Note Speaker, Elizabeth Smart, one of our times most followed child abduction cases. Smart will be speaking on moving forward in life and her experience. The second entertainer is Michael. C. Anthony with his “ Sleight of the Mind” show. Anthony will be reading the minds of complete strangers and make strange but true predictions. Some other activities that attendees will be enjoying is Natural Space and Air Museum, International Spy Museum, Smithsonian National Zoo. Although it is too late to attend this year's convention, get started on planning for next year!
