SOCIAL & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
SiamMandalay believes in working with and offering assistance to the local community. To that end, employment opportunities are offered to qualified local citizens who are interested in joining our team. This policy has been in place since the inception of SiamMandalay.
SiamMandalay is committed to continuing the development of mutual loyalty between the company and its neighbors, offering training throughout the year to enhance the skills and livelihood of local villagers.
SiamMandalay is proud to host an annual program called “Give Green Back to the Earth.” Each year, SiamMandalay employees choose a charitable event to organize and support. Over the years, these events have included planting trees in a northern forest, donating clothing and supplies to a less-fortunate hill-tribe village, and donating supplies helping to support local orphanages in Chiang Mai.
SiamMandalay strongly supports the local education sector by implementing an annual donation program that we began in 2003, for rural schools in Northern Thailand. Under this program, SiamMandalay and its partners donate computers and offer internet access and training, to schools that could not otherwise afford these valuable tools.

HISTORY
The SiamMandalay group of companies (together known as “SiamMandalay”) began business in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 1993 under the name South East Asian Imports, as the buying office for a newly-founded import company of the same name located in Toronto, Canada. In 1994, the Toronto company changed its name to Mandalay Ltd., and began marketing its home furnishing and giftware items imported from Thailand across Canada under the brand name The Mandalay Box Company. In 1995, Mandalay Ltd. set up a sales and distribution operations center in Baltimore, Maryland to meet the demand coming from the US market.
By 1997, operations in Chiang Mai had grown large enough in size to justify establishing SiamMandalay Company Ltd., and the expansion of operations beyond buying to include product development, quality control, packaging and logistics.
Thus, SiamMandalay was born.
With continued growth in demand for our products and services, in 1999 SiamMandalay built an office and warehouse facility at Amphur Sarapee, Chiang Mai. In 2000, an additional warehouse structure adjoining the original building was erected to accommodate the company’s strong growth. This was quickly followed by the construction of an additional building housing a two-story office complex and showroom, which opened in late 2001. The newest building is equipped with the most progressive technological features reflecting the Company’s integration of technology into its daily operations.
Today, SiamMandalay is involved in the international trade and distribution of Thai-produced handicrafts and providing logistics services to exporters and importers.
