WELCOME TO WMF 2014 Welcome to the 2014 Worcester Music Festival guide and what a festival we have for you this year! With over 250 bands and solo artists, 25 workshops, three outside stages (one of which is on a bus) and finally street entertainment that’s full of surprises. This year we’re raising money through collections for Worcestershire Young Carers, so please go and say hello to our fun packed charity collectors who’ll be roaming the venues selling raffle tickets. If you see something good this weekend, take a picture and share it with us on Twitter @WorcsMusicFest or at Facebook.com/worcestermusicfestival. Or why not enter your favourites into our photo competition? For more details see page 7. Most importantly of all, enjoy the music! Love from the Worcester Music Festival Team

CHARITY OF THE YEAR If you see one of our fabulous, fancy dress-clad charity team out with their collection boxes over the festival, it would be great if you could spare a few beans for our charity of the year. All money raised through donations and raffle tickets will go to Worcestershire Young Carers, which supports 7-25 year olds who might be looking after a physically disabled relative or helping to raise siblings in a home where a parent has mental health problems. With nearly 3,000 young people in Worcestershire providing some level of care and the fact that the charity receives funding from the local council to pay for a basic staff team, but has to fundraise for everything else, we hope you’ll agree this is a hugely worthwhile cause. ARTS Clik Clik Collective is proud to be working with the Worcester Music Festival this year to bring you a diverse mix of street entertainment, installations and live music in and around the city centre on Saturday, August 30. Be prepared for street music, pop ups and other surprises thrown in.

If Wet If Wet is a monthly event which has taken place mainly at Callow End Village Hall, but also on tour, for well over a year now. It is a forum for sonic exploration and experimentation and we are excited to bring our afternoon of show & tell to Worcester Music Festival where you the audience members can show any weird and wonderful sound objects, instruments or anything which makes an interesting noise!

YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED. Clik Clik is a Worcestershire-based arts venture, which offers unique creative entertainment for all kinds of events and activities, taking the arts to the people, encouraging everyone to get creative, be inspired and, more importantly, have fun. A few things going on at the festival… The Hear and Now - Play Me Come and have a tinkle on one of the pianos placed in the city centre for the public’s use. Show off your skills or have a go for the first time. Musical Mugs Come see our bespoke, music-related Clik Clik Character board for the High Street. Character boards are boards like you get at the seaside with holes in for faces, for people to have fun and have their photo taken. Come, put your face in our holes and become a musical instrument. 3pm Surprise! Get yourselves down to the Guildhall for a special surprise installation! www.clikclikcollective.com www.facebook.com/clikclikcollective
