Legal Fees MJW Law can deal with cases in a selection of ways depending on the type of case you wish to bring. This includes but is not limited to the following: No win no fee basis This is where we agree there is sufficient prospects to take your case on under a conditional fee agreement which means if you lose your case you do not have to pay our legal costs (subject to exceptional circumstances such as fundamental dishonesty) but may have to pay for disbursements we have incurred. Hourly rate basis This is where you agree to pay us a specific hourly rate for the type of litigator required to handle your case. This is generally a private retainer agreement and means that you will be liable for your own legal fees regardless of the outcome of the case. Damaged Based Agreement This is where you agree to pay us a specific percentage of the amount recovered in compensation. If you lose your case you do not have to pay our legal costs (subject to exceptional circumstances such as fundamental dishonesty) but may have to pay for disbursements we have incurred. Disbursement Funding Arrangements This is where you take out insurance to protect you from paying disbursements such as expert evidence and courts fees which can be expensive. Third Party Funding This is where a third party funds your case in exchange for a fee on recovery of your damages. You may also take out insurance to cover your disbursements. If you require advice on which of the above fee structure is appropriate for your case call MJW Law today and we will gladly explain the process in more detail.
