The Bazaar, the Transient Group and the Local Artisans/ Craftsmen - these three entities are heavy anchor points on their own, but that being said, they also share a rich exchange that enhances the cultural context of the project. The Local craftsmen need a place to live within the Inner Walled City that is in the vicinity of the relevant bazaar clusters. The transient population comprising of the Tourists and Artists from around the world want to consume/ buy not only the goods that the artists produce, but also experience their lives closely and learn their art. The exchanges between the three groups spatially and temporally are explored in the project.
The spatial distribution versus time diagram for the interdepented three dots - Bazaar, Transient Group and the Local Artisans/ Craftsmen establishes how the changes in space required for various functions for each category vary with respect to time. The change in space with time is different for each category. For the Transient group the space requirement is temporary and can occur at any time for any duration, while for the localites the spatial growth happens in a long term process and is a gradual gradient. The change of spaces for the bazaar units change with time of the day depending upon the public rush. A link thus formed help in understanding the various spatial factors and requirements that are needed and helps in understanding how they all can work together.
Initial Layouts of 3x3m Progressions with transient and fixed built and fixed void spaces.
key
The Residential Units are planned around a central courtyard. Instead of having a fixed area, the units are built partially with 9sqm flexible voids that can be built by the user as per requirement. Larger Units of 108, 90 and are placed on the ground floor level. As the area of the units decrease they go further up (G+2 Max).
key
Some variations of the shared (108sqm + 90sqm) Residential Units. These units work with the help of Pivot walls. Pivot walls like the name suggests are solid partition elements pivoted on one end and free to move on the other accomodating some foldable furniture within them. These allow the users to spatially transform the interiors acc. to their needs.
The Bazaar Units are all placed on the ground floor level. These units, just like the residential ones have dedicatded voids that can be built as a part of the unit. Given above are some iterations that are generated according to accessibility and edge conditions on the site.

The site is divided into smaller pockets, varying in levels of privacy and interactions with the edges. The outer edges of all the zones are the ones that attract the non-residents to the site for retail purposes. As we go further into the zone, there are Residential Units planned around a central green shared space.

As one enters the house, he/ she could either go around the corridor to access rooms or enter the glass chamber that inhabits the tree and directly reach the living area. From the entrance, rooms are accessed via the main corridor. Around the corridor, starting from the storage, one will walk past the cloakroom, bedroom, and bathroom, leading towards the living – dining – kitchen area with glass doors to view and access the exterior garden.
The staircase on the southern edge of the house leads to children’s bedroom on the first floor, overlooking the living room. The roof is a spiral garden where nature rises from the earth towards the sky. The spiral shape provides varying parameters such as height, sun exposure, and humidity, enabling to roof to be populated with all sorts of plants with different growth requirements.

FIRST FLOOR PLAN
From the entrance, rooms are accessed by means of the main corridor. The corridor runs around a Peepal Tree that demands attention as the central figure in the scheme of the structure. It is featured by a lily pond and foot dip pond on either side.
This plush peach kitchen is a U-type arrangement - a compact and an efficient space utiliser with a plethora of storage options. The shutters are made in MDF with classical frame and panel design. The counter top is made in Black Marcino Granite.

tesseract
The Tesseract follows a support-infill mechanism, where the support is the framed structure of the Tesseract, that expands itself to meet the requirements of the user, and also to improve the quality of life the user experiences.
The growth of the tesseract starts with a 9.375 sqm living accommodation that features basic human life processes “Eat”, “Live”, “Rest” and “Maintain”. These are the basic requirements that a living being and we as humans require.
The Tesseract is a physical manifestation of the ever-changing nature of the Architecture and the evolution of the users with it. The Building follows a support-infill mechanism, where the support is the framed structure of the Tesseract, that expands itself to meet the requirements of the user, and also to improve the quality of life the user experiences.
As time passes, we expect both, the number of people residing to increase and their requirements to enhance. As these requirements enhance, the basic living processes also start to develop into new functions.
CLEAN

REST
These functions are the results of the overlap of the basic living functions with one another – eat and live give dining; live and rest give entertainment; rest and maintain give dressing, and lastly; maintain and eat gives hygiene.

THE 4TH DIMENSION Tesseract is the Fourth Dimension. Its all about time, and so is architecture. Architecture flows like a stream in the meadows and swirls and banks freely, but with time, it also erodes the soil around it and shapes the Earth to reveal new forms. These forms are ever changing - ever evolving.
All solid walls and floors are foldable allowing easy manageability to the user. It also enhances the flexibility and allows user to create connections between indoor and outdoor as per his/her requirement.
MOBILITY
spatial progression
Pivot walls creating interimspaces to allow flexible use of programs in the spaces.
The tesseract is a mobile assembly that can be transported to any part of the world with the help of trolley trucks irrespective of whether it is an urban centre, or a city.

The intermediate functions that develop over time are accommodated by the use of Pivot walls that economically spread its’ arm revealing the function they are supposed to cater.
DINING 180 deg
The frame of the tesseract opens up in all the four sides to accommodate these pivot walls. The opening of all the pivot walls, mark the final state of the tesseract with a 25sqm living accommodation.

SHELL STRUCTURES Derived Shell Structures using RhinoVault. Experiments done lead to interesting forms and structures resulting in the 6 said iterations.
MAGNETIC FIELD LINES Derived furniture based on Magnetic Field Lines using Anemone and Dendro Plugins in Grasshopper
The 6’ x 31⁄2’ x 31⁄2’ seating was designed in 2017 as the part of a larger furniture fest in Sushant School of Art and Architecture. The theme of the furniture was “levels”.
The vase uses 2mm MS sheet which is cut in desired piece using a Hand Grinder. The peices further are joined using brackets via spot welding. White paint is used to further decorate the vase.
The collage tries to juxtapose the foreseeable future in light of the criticism the Piano + Rogers postmodern marvel - Pompidou - had to face while its construction, by borrowing cues from the artist Roger Augustine (Security Object) and the commercial artist Wallace Berman (Verifax Collage).
This piece is created in Adobe Illustrator primarily. The photograph is recoloured in Adobe Photoshop. It utilizes cues and inspirations from the Indian city of lakes - Udaipur.
This piece is created in Adobe Illustrator and animated in Premier Pro. The animation is an experiential visualization of the song Handmade by the English indie rock band Alt-J via different textures and colours.
