SA Army Museum, at Keswick.

Project Brief- The project is located in the Unley suburb of Adelaide, profoundly known as one of the uptown suburbs. The project land consists of the Keswick’s Army Barracks and the Le Cornu site originally decided to use for redevelopment projects consisting of residential development and shopping complex. The task was for us to identify the drawbacks in the suburb and to efficiently tackle the same with the help of design tools advocating an increase in the community enrichments. Project Outcome- Following the study conducted on the site, it was identified that the Army has a rich history associated with the current location of the site and that it would be highly inappropriate to vacate them from the site. Hence, redeveloping parts of the site, and reusing the existing rich architecture with the inclusion of a few more structures alongside the same architectural style- the outcome consisted of a facility for Army men as Army housing and a well-celebrated Army museum. There are other activities included on the site to give a civilian the taste of the rich Army history of Australia.

Inclusion in Seclusion, at Gillman.

Project Brief- Located in the neighborhood of Gillman, South Australia, the site in total has many usages. A waste dumping facility is located in the far eastern end of the site which accounts for major accommodation of the site. A few other usages of the sites are industrial, warehouses, and barren land. The project focused on rethinking the waste dumping situation on the site, as to how it affects the surrounding ecology. The task also included acknowledging climatic adversity and plan the site in accordance to fight the climatic abnormalities.

Project Outcome- Concerning the research taken, it was concluded that the site has a rich sense of ecology within. The budding eco-system of marshy wetlands could be tapped into and with a little improvement in the current facilities- the ecology could thrive abundantly. The climatic adversity taken into consideration was the rise in water levels as predicted by the Au government in the coming 100 years. A dense plantation of mangroves and using geological tools helped us render satisfactory results to combat the rising sea level rise in the area.

Urban Spine, at Hindmarsh.

Project Brief- The proposed site for intervention is the strip of Port Road in the locality of Bowden in SA. The project focused on the now-forgotten median strip of the landscape. As an initiative from the council, this project aims on increasing community engagement with the median and activating the landscape strip. Project Outcome- The median strip needed a design intervention according to the project brief. Upon further study, it was concluded that the neighborhood also needed a multi-use structure efficient of accommodating multiple building usages. Hence, a site was identified and the structure was articulately designed to fit the requirements. The median stretch was also elevated as the problem identified death with constant breakages in the path of a protagonist by vehicular roads.

Ghatkopar Khaugalli, at Mumbai.

Project Brief- A khaugalli is efficiently translated into a food street. With the increasing population, India deals with accommodating everyone. The growing problems also deal with an increase in the number of vehicles brought by the visitors of the area. hence, a 360 degree planning reform was necessary for the concerning area. Project Outcome- Considering the development norms of the area, the only reform we could exercise was in changing the planning on the street. Activating the temporal dimensions of design strategies, the solution devised to restrict vehicles after a certain hour only allowing two-wheelers till a point. There was also a change in the seating facilities and the stall design to increase overall efficiency.

Construction Drawings at Alibaug. Project Brief- The construction drawings belong to a Resort project proposed in the regional parts of the state of Maharashtra, India. The drawings briefly layout details at each level, by providing joinery details wherever required and material specifications as needed.

Hexallion

n Computational Design at Mumbai. Project Brief- The Hexallion Computational Design was a workshop attended by me in the fourth year of my architectural studies. The workshop focused on art inclusion in architecture and interiors. Using computational softwares like Rhinocerous and Grasshopper, we can achieve a stable yet abstract art product that could be implemented in real life, serving as a structure or an article in a structure.

H E X A - L L I O N A bond in chemistry with strings attached. HEXA-LLION IS A PUBLIC STRUCTURE DERIVED USING COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN STRATEGIES. UPON RESEARCH OF VARIOUS DESIGN SHAPES, HEXAGON WAS SELECTED AS IT IS TOUTED TO BE THE BEST STABLE SHAPE SEEN IN NATURE. THE COMPUTATIONAL ENGINEERING IS MAJORLY USED TO DEFINE A PATTERN IN THE STRING ATTACHMENTS ACROSS VARIOUS JOINERY DETAILS. THE SHADED PATHWAY IS MORE OF AN ART STATEMENT TO THE COMMUNITY. THE USE OF SEVERAL COLOURS GIVES AWAY THE MESSAGE OF BEING DIFFERENT YET WOVEN INTO THE SAME SOCIAL FABRIC.

CREATING A BASIC GRID THAT SUITS THE GIVEN PROGRAMME.

USING ALGORTHYM FOR INDUCING ASTHETIC SENSE IN THE MODULE.

1

Innitially starting off with the hexagonal grid, we fixed up on a base language of the design which replicates the hexagonal bonds of chemical compounds.

2

Setting up a desired curve on the hexagonal grid allows us to extract an asthetical pleasing and functional flowing mass with respect to the pavillion.

3

Erasing off extra grid atterns, we now have achieved our desirable shape to which the pedestrian walkway shall flow. Strategic planning helps us to carve out voids in between for tree plantation for the pavillion to be more interactive to the nature.

4

Now with the aid of the tool, we use random reduce and deduce the structual members of the pavillion which are indicated in dark tone in the diagram given below.

Tinge of Frame Kalaghoda Art Festival. Project Brief- Kalaghoda Art Festival is an international art festival hosted by the city of Mumbai every year. With art representations ranging from pottery, street art, films, music, drama, art expos, etc, the festival is adorned by jewels of art streams. Various workshops and hands-on activities, with stores all dedicated to empower local artists, amalgamate in one true sense of uplifting the art and culture of the nation. Whist in the first year of Architecture,we participated in the art festival with our art installation consisting of various portraits of famous people from all walks of life. The installation also had an empty window in between where the protagonist could see his portrait amongst his/her/their idols and boost them that they could also strive and achieve greater success in life.
