Campaign Media Release LABOR MEMBER FOR BRADDON SID SIDEBOTTOM COALITION’S PLAN FOR DOING NOTHING UNVEILED Labor Member for Braddon, Sid Sidebottom, said today that Garry Carpenter‟s so-called action plan was nothing more than a list of hollow promises. “Garry Carpenter is doing a lot of talking but not a lot of delivering,” Mr Sidebottom said. Mr Carpenter has just distributed his latest campaign flyer across Braddon, claiming to „get things done‟ – but last week in the Advocate, he claimed the area received too much Federal funding. Last week we read “Spending like a drunken sailor” Tony Abbott, Advocate, July 21 “One week Garry Carpenter and the Coalition are saying the region‟s funding should be cut and the next week they‟re saying they will „get things done‟,” Sid Sidebottom said. “The Coalition clearly has no real plan for improving the health, education and reducing the cost of living for people in Braddon. “In fact, Tony Abbott and Garry Carpenter would cut health funding – including GP Super Clinics – and would slug the average family an extra $355 a year with their Coles and Woolies tax.” Garry Carpenter makes vague comments about „more support for local small businesses‟ and „more support for local cancer services‟, but has no plan to deliver his vague ideas. Federal Labor has delivered for the Braddon community, including: Smithton was one of the first communities to receive fibre to the premises with services under the National Broadband Network GP Super Clinics in Devonport and Burnie North West and North Innovation and Industry Fund creating 400 real jobs For more information contact Luke Sayer on 6431 1333/0458 311 355.
