… for a fair go in Braddon

Media Release St Joseph’s School refurbishments officially opened by Sid

STUDENTS and staff at Queenstown’s St Joseph’s School can now work in a more modern learning environment thanks to $606,520 from the Rudd Government. The construction of a double classroom, amenities and an extension to the staff room were all officially open today by Federal Member for Braddon Sid Sidebottom. The funding comes from the Rudd Government’s Capital Grants Program. “I am delighted to be here today to officially open these significant renovations at St Joseph’s,” Mr Sidebottom said. “St Joseph’s has seen a number of refurbishments and renovations in recent years, and I commend the school for their continued passion and dedication for ensuring their school continues to modernise itself. “I must also congratulate principal Rod Linhart and the St Joseph’s school community for contributing an additional $212,909 towards the project.” St Joseph’s School has been operating since 1899. Mr Sidebottom also congratulated St Joseph’s on the $75,000 received through the Rudd Government’s National School Pride program. “This funding will go towards the refurbishment of existing general learning areas, the school hall and some outdoor areas,” he said.
